Street only, road trips etc. Any chance you could modify a couple of those blocks for me?

When you mount your track bar I would box in the section of the frame for a little more support for the bracket.

Nice! I admire your work. Where are all these nail heads coming from. I can't find one in my area. Seems like people can just pull them out of their ass.

I think you in the future will ask yourself why did I shorten the length of the cab? I built a 32 Ford pu and extended the cab 12 inches after driving it several years short. The extra room was fantastic and made it a lot more comfortable to drive.A little chop would look nice also but that is a personal choice. I like what your doing but you may want to rethink it before ya get too far to change If you are planning to drive it a lot.Just my 2 cents thought from someone that has been there done that.

Thanks for the support! This is my first build of this magnatude so I'm learning as I go along. I see nailheads pretty often in the Hamb ads and the 'bay, you just gotta keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks for the feedback! I decided the wheelbase was just too long, and it's still going to pretty long as it is. I'm only 5'8 and I spent a good long time sitting in the cab with the seat in it. The cab is a little wider that most because of the way it's made and with the unchopped top I can sit more upright. My previous project was a '45 Jeep (it's in my profile) that thing had a serious leg room problem, so I'm building the truck to fit me. I really think it'll be fine.

Yeah, I'm creeping along. Made a few more tweaks to the cab to make it fit the frame better. Got a permanent tranny mount in there (not the prettiest one I've ever seen but it'll work for now), got the master cylinder/brake pedal assembly figured out and ready to weld in. Supposed to pick up my front axle this weekend with all the bushings/holes etc. installed and reamed properly.

Hey thanks! It's a "coachbuilt" cab, a little wider than a production cab, and very easy to add length behind the doors.

That is NOT a roadster/phaeton cowl, it is 30-31 Model A Ford cowl which was used on U.S. Mail Trucks and sold on AA truck cowl and chassis to aftermarket body builders.

Thanks! I'm pretty much a hacker, but I'm getting there.

Thanks for the input. That jives pretty well with what the p.o. told me about the cab. That's were I got the "Hercules" in the title of this thread, that's what he thought it was. Ford cowl and chassis with Hercules aftermarket cab.

Throughout the years Ford has offered cowl and chassis truck units to the aftermarket for use, primarily through the 60s as school buses. In the T and T and early V8 era there were many makers of moving vans, stepvans, armored cars, and other commercial applications who bought these cowl/chassis setups. Ford, GMC, Chevrolet, Dodge all offered a version of the cowl/chassis truck.

Permanent coilover brackets, much nicer than those blue things I had on there. I have some clearance issues here but I'll get it.

Man, I like the look of you parts you made to hang the spring off of the wishbone. Looks like it should be real low. Looking forward to the next update.
