My '50 chevy coupe project...

    i'm retired and decided i needed something to keep me busy.. i picked up this '50 chevy coupe and plan on installing a 350/700R4 .. last night i bought a good running '87 chevy van with the 350/700R4, PS, PB, PW, cruise control for $400.. plans are to strip it out for all the goodies..

    Welcome! That's a nice looking car! I'd have used the $400 for proper wheels and tires and kept the stovebolt. :D

    I agree! I would have kept the six in it. I love these early Chevy's and it looks like you have a beautiful one.

    One fng to another, just finnished putting a 400sb and 700r4 in my 53 chevy. You'll love how it drives. Great looking car. good luck

    Yes.. chuck the 6 banger... I did and I can understand why you're doing it. Yes, it's a nice time piece... but for a whole lot more fun and a little bit of effort.. you're going to have something you enjoy a whole lot more. Keep it up.. nice project!

    Damn nice car!!! Welcome to the hamb. Keep us posted on your retirement project!!! Looks like you have a good plan a nd a great start! I actually like the chrome steelies and baby moons. Congrats and enjoy your retirement...CHEERS.

    By the way gsport, you might want to take a minute and do an intro...it can get a little rough around here if you don't.

    pretty sweet little car. don't know how i feel about yanking that 6 though-they're a great motor. it's you car though, have fun with it!

    what are the other plans for it? wheels/tires/stance?

    Man,Ilike that car! MY dad had one in1962,his work car.I always thought they were business coupes,short back window. It's gonnabe a cool ride!

    i got it for $5000 as it sets.. it had no interior in it yet, but sure did run good....
