I love it, with one exception, the trunk. Just too high for me with such an elegant sweep in the rear window then the abruptness of the level trunk... maybe when it's all together with the front end a full profile shot. Amazing fab work by the way. Did you reinforce the body? Or were the stock hardtop bracing enough?
Just found this thread..nice work..car is gonna look killer when complete! Gotta luv the tow package too, Good to see it s gonna get drivin!
the body has a network of tubing to help reinforce it, as well as the convertiable frame. We kept going back and forth on the trunk area but in keeping a spare tire and the luggage space we left the trunk and hood alone,
Real nice work. I think the lines will look even better with the fender skirts back on (I hope they're going back on?). What motor is it going to have?
Wow. I met the owner of this car out in the panhandle earlier this week and he was showing me these pics.
The skirts are going back on the car they were dropped down an inch so the bottom of the skirt and the body line up. when the front end is hung on the car the trunk looks better right now the car is up on jack stands. and we still have some way to go. yesterday we were going back and forth on the bumpers if we should leave the chrome alone or brush all the bright work. the stainless belt line is brushed to save some time and money on making them perfect, but once the brushed stainless was on the car with the flat blue the brushed stainless in my opinion looks great, and that got us thinking about the rest of the bright work. The owner of the car has been great to work with he gave us some free rain on making a few subtle changes to the car, hopefully we can get it back to him soon.
Made some head way this week a lot of small parts are hung and working on getting the das all together so we can start wiring the car. the drive train should go in next week. couldn't wait had to throw on a skirt and set the car on the deck to see how it all will look. The upholstory hanging out in the back was from the convertiable that we started with just trying to see if we can reuse some of it and if the white willl work with the rest of the car.
i wasnt a fan at 1st coz i like the hardtop backwindow, but now all together it looks really good.. would you consider changing the backglass gasket to the one that accepts the chrome trim??
It turned out amazing.... Ive been following this thread and I will admit I had my doubts a time or two, but I kept quite saying to myself "I bet when this this is done its going to be badass. And it my friend is BADASS
i dont think that would go with the flow of the car, its just so smooth, and clean as is. i think you did a bang up job on that beotch. looks sick as f**k.
A quick update on the car Not a lot of notable progress this week small items take a bit of time to install and get going the windshield will be in today and hope full next week the front end sheet metal can go on. We do have atest panel done for the pinstripping.
