I heard from a friend of a friend that an older lady was selling some cars her late husband had restored. He said he figured they were some 1950's Model T's....OK if you say so??? You never know whats out there, so I called and worked to set something up. This lady know her stuff. She described this as a Late 31 Model A pickup, with a 39 flathead V-8, three speed and hydraulic brakes. This peaked my intrestet....I set it up and went there on Tuesday. Not what I expected......it was a V-8 60. It fired up with a jump and a little gas and ran like a top. It had been siting for a few years. Split bones, juice brakes. 32 gas pedal. Very cool and old.

Needless to say, it came home with me after a deal was made. Drove it home.

Pretty cool older restoration. And the coolest part is her late husband retired from the same department I work for, after 35 years...!!
    Small world.

There is a pickup like that down the street from my son's school... every once in a while I see the guy that owns it out front working on a Studebaker Lark that is parked next to it...

From the looks of it he drives it. I gotta stop and talk to him.

    Killer score there!

That's awesome!!! Great little truck and I love the color. If that thing were mine I'd have some 16" steelies or '35 Wires with new tires and a mild drop axle and call it done!!! Really cool truck man, I'm happy for you.

Looks like the trans is the little V8-60 box too. How'd they set up the pedal shaft and clutch hookup?

They cut the stock pedals off the A tranny, and mounted them to the frame. The clutck linkage works great, it pulls up on the v8 60 tranny arm, and the brake linkage has a bellcrank setup pushing back on a 39-48 ford master.

Just as I suspected. Great car. Add some shocks, it'll ride some better.

Yeah I had one in my 54 Chevy, it turns the engine over a wee bit faster but doesn't destroy the generator.

    Sweet truck, I like it.

That thing is COOL, all it needs is a dropped axle, some 16 inche steelies painted that same yellow, with some 550's up fron and some 800's out back....add another carb and your ready to go....Or you could keep it as.

  26. I am soooo jealous. That truck is neato!

Let's see it with the new wheels...
