Vintage Torque Fest

For those of us who are into the tradional hotrods and ratrods, There is a car show coming to the Farley Speedway in Farley Iowa on May 1st, 2010. Farley Iowa is 12 miles from Dubuque,IA and only 30 miles from Galena, IL. It will be rain or shine and pre 1965 cars only.

There will also be a swap meet there that will only include auto parts and nothing else.

Do'nt mention r#t rods in the same sentance as traditional hot rods

Yeah - the Rat Rod stuff is not going to be encouraged.

If you have an ART CAR (which is what some people have taken the term rat rod to mean- a perfect example is the crazy art car that was in the "extreme" section of the Minnesota World of Wheels - I dont even know what it was...........)
You may not get in depending on who is inspecting the cars................
The truly traditional rods will have their own section. (For cars that are like the Cheaters rides)
It is hard to define art car - but as Justice Stewart stated in a Supreme Court obscenity case - "I know it when I see it"

this being said - I WILL NOT BE IN CHARGE OF INSPECTIONS
I am sure people will come to me after the show and complain about how their hot rod that always gets in to the Hunnert Car Pile Up was rejected........
for that I am SURE I will have a story to counter that will be "My neighbors cousin has tried to get in the HCPU four times.......and got in. It is SUBJECTIVE!"
Bottom line - come on up and have a good time - if your good time is dependent on you getting your ride into the show -
