I think the 4-doors were all badged as 'Prefects'
and the 2-door versions as 'Anglias'.

I'm guessing the stock steering column was moved from the right side of the car to the left? Or is it an upside down GM column? Looks strange to see the key on the left and the turn signal lever on the right.

  9. That series Anglia was sold here in the states with left hand steering.

  10. That is a flash back. I recall seeing the "No Big Thing" car run in the early to mid 70's, I think at U.S. 30 Dragway near Gary, Ind. Sticks in my head that it had the names Brugo & Silverman on it at the time.

How many different names did the English Fords go by over the years? Anglia, Prefect, Popular,...years ago my brother had a stock '58 or '59 Thames panel truck that looked like it was based off of this same body. Were only the panel trucks called Thames?

  11. Yes, I believe so.
There's one sitting in the backyard of a house/Avocado grove in Escondido, CA. Old Gas car, narrowed Olds, big engine setback, CAE straight axle... all steel, IIRC, and the guy does NOT want to sell it. I haven't even been back in 5 years, it may be gone now, I dunno.
