Great lookin' truck.Lotta inspiration there.About to start on a '68 Ford F-600 for my wife.Will see duty pulling a horse trailer.

 

We've made a little progress.


Most of the interior is in.






The doors are on and we'll probably get the windows in tomorrow.




It's starting to look like a truck again.








I'll post more pictures when we install the hood and fenders.

 

A little progress has gone along way, keeps getting better Jim.

You might be right about that. We started out looking for a regular tractor and the plan was to make or adapt a set of rear fenders that were similar to the Mack's front fenders. When we got the fire truck we decided to go ahead and use the rear fenders that came with it.

We're hoping to get another trailer in the future. I would really like to either build or modify one with a vintage look.

There is a trucking company that has about a half dozen B series just sitting and rotting about 40 miles from me but heard wont sell them,never anyone around when I went through the area and would love to have one if I had the room to work on it.

Wow, that is really nice... you did well to install every thing in the interior with the somewhat limited space afforded in the B model cab. Just looking at the original driver's seat and the cramped quarters makes me think how tough those old truck drivers were. DT's are excellent engines, how much hp is that one? Prolly no room for the after cooler in front of the mack radiator. Yellow looks killer, but it is just .... wrong.

I'm sorry to hear your dog didn't have a long life. He sure was a handsome looking fella.

Yeah, I know painting an IHC engine Caterpillar yellow is wrong. It was an impulse thing.

The engine's rated at 230hp. Up until this afternoon the plan was to put the aftercooler behind the bumper but we mocked it up and just can't get it to look right. So, the new plan is to mount it between the frame rails behind the cab and use a set of electric rad fans to supply air flow.
