History Drag cars in motion.......picture thread.

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Royalshifter, Dec 12, 2007.

  1. Thanks Dennis. I knew you could fill us in. We inducted Terry into our Mo-Kan hall of fame a while back, he hangs out at the track from time to time. We are working on a history site for the 'Kan and other area tracks, just recently came across a bunch of photos of Ivey's Torino. Also have some photos of his cab over Ford ramp truck with one Maverick funny car on the back, and one on a trailer behind.

Did Ivey's Torino originaly belong to Ted DeTar?

Yes,you're exactly right.I think Ted's son told us the car went to Ivey during Ted's divorce.Would LOVE to see the Ivey photos ! Dennis Doubleday

Damn, Skywolf-- I don't know what the record is on this thread for most consecutive awesome pics, but I have a feeling you just took the crown. Thanks for making my night!

  5. Ted DeTar - looks like Terry Ivey's name on the door here. Coleman's Torino in the background.

Man, I just loved this car. Bob Lunsford from Alaska would venture down south in the winter with this thing and clean up. I saw him get R/U in comp elim at 69 HRM Championships

Leon Fitzgerald traded the Pure Heaven car to this car. Fitzgerald got a Mustang fastback or something like that. He ten built an inj gas buring motor in order to comepte in class and bracket racing
