My friend Daves model A just says Hot Rod for me. When you look at it, ride in it, & hear it.

This was posted by Jeffrey James in post #95, note the belt line. The car is partially sectioned isn't it? Look at the other 5Windows in post #95. [IMG]

  5. Yes. Apparently there was a couple built like that around SF-Oakland area. That one is chopped. This one below owned in the 50s by Bill Crowell was a feature car around 1953, Full fendered, car still exists too.

I kinda think a 40 coupe defines a hot rod

Wow, tons of great pictures, I am in aggreement with most everyone on here. An open wheel, no hood and fenderless coupe or roadster from the 30 would be my definition of a hot rod.

These three are the definitive hot rods in my opinion. Probably in this order. There are so many more so close to these, but if I had to start a list this is what it would look like. I added pics of the dash of each too, because to my OCD mind it is a very important part of the car and these three are also classic and timeless in that department. The picture of the McGee engine is just icing on the cake....:D

I also think the definitive hot rod would have to be a roadster by definition.......(sorry for the redundancy)

WHo's garage is that? looks like a canted headlight '56 in the background and a zinger in the foreground!

Found the video I was referring to earlier in the thread. It's been posted before, but so have most of the pics.
