Hey Hambers. Coming from Illannoy and Wisconsin. Where is the place to be on Friday night? First time to Bakersfield and getting excited about the whole experience. If there was one piece of good advice, what would it be? Thanks, Mark

I'm going to try go, just like I've told myself for years. I still haven't been and I've lived here most of my life.

What if it does rain? How do they handle it? Raindate? Next weekend? I'm coming from Jersey and would like to know what are the possibilities. Thanks.

NO RAIN DATE....we either get it in or stick a fork in it......besides...it's an "EVENT" one day of rain doesn't kill it....it's just like WOODSTOCK...pigs in the mud....no one is scared away from the March Meet because of rain....a few years back we got 4+ inches on thurs thru sat...still tried to run on sunday....but 4 A/Gas cars crashed from water weeping through the track....they ended up redoing the track !!!!

Well I get what you are saying.. BUT IT AIN'T LIKE WOODSTOCK.. you can't race in rain. The Weather Channel forecast says 50% and 60% chance of rain Sat. & Sun. And comin from Jersey is a LOT farther than Cali. "no one is scared away from the March Meet because of rain". Right.. nobodies "scared" of rain.. just scared of losing flight, hotel, rental car, long weekend off work.. ya know, those little things. Either we shall see. Good luck to ya.

i got this off of the bangshift.com website , might hafta check it out

BangShift.com is excited to announce that it will be carrying start-to-finish, free, live streaming video coverage of the 52nd March Meet from historic Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California. The March Meet is the most significant nostalgia drag race in the world and this year will feature a field of 32 Nitro Funny Cars. After the smashing success of the live broadcast of the NHRA California Hot Rod Reunion, the crew at BangShift.com is expecting a massive crowd of viewers tuning in to the March Meet.
