  1. Here are 2 pictures of my brother´s project, a Chevrolet Nova ( here in Argentina it´s called Chevrolet 400 ) with an Impala SS 409 engine. Hope you enjoy it! Anyone with a Nova with this engine? Please post pics! Thanks!!:)

Nice combo, Dickie Harrell used to race a Chevy ll with a 427 Z-11 engine. I believe those were A /FX cars. I don't have any photos handy but maybe someone else does.

When I first read the topic, "Chevrolet Nova with 409 engine", I thought it would be at least the 68 and newer style. But to shoehorn that 409 into a 62-67 style boxey Nova/ChevyII took some work. It looks good. The car looks to be a 4 door model; that'd make for a real sleeper here in the States. Many years ago, there was a fella that bracket raced a 67 or 68 Chevrolet Camaro, with a 409 powerplant in it, at Bremerton Raceway. Very unusual combination. Announcer always made note of it having a 409 every time it made a pass.

  4. and we all know WHY they called it the "Chevrolet 400" in Latin America... :)

that story is famous in business school.

    Very cool car!

    Here's a couple of 409 powered Chevy II's.
This first one runs 9.80's in the 1/4 mile.

This one wasn't quite finished when this photo was taken but I think it'll be ready to go for the coming year. It will also be "strictly racing" and very fast.

  17. Jim ss409 - That red car is right on! Those slicks FILL it up. Probably have to jack the body way up to get 'em off. Sergioparez78, I'll bet that "400" is a real handfull with that 409. Lots of torque there. I had a friend with a '63 Chevy II. 327 took a special oil pan and headers were TIGHT:eek:. Bet that W engine was a trick to stuff in there.

  19. Hotrod-linkin - it´s very hard to find a good old grille down here. Actually it´s very hard to find a car in a very good shape...

I'm looking at that grille, and can see how it was derived from the '65's.
What (Argentine) model year is it?
