all I ever find is a few cents and a bill or two for things I have to repair, nothing very interesting.

  4. Quran, Japanese Money, Japanese candy still in package, change, sunglasses, water bottles, bluetooth headset, dog toy, house paint can, boy of rusty tools, original GM test sheet, almonds, french fries, gold fish crackers, hot wheels cars, toys from McDonalds, homework, spare parts, nuts, bolts, acrylic paint, sun shade, extra entenna, and that's about it!

  5. Cleaning out the 34 to start assessing amount of floor panels to order, found an "Admit One" ticket stub, price on it was 5 cents!

For the guys that are trying to figure out what the gun I found (page 8) is, the grip says "Remington UMC" if that is any help.

I work at a dealership, had a gal come in with an Armada couldnt get the gas tank to fill and the gas guage was reading weird, Our tech pulled the tank and to his suprise was filled with round tubs full of dope, they had at least six in the tank. Our tech got an award from the city for being a good person, police got the dope and they lady got her car back.

Found several cool full-color 55 Buick newsprint advertisements in the glovebox of my 55 Super, plus a 55 Pennsylvania tag under the back seat. Scored several shiny clean gear-wrenches somebody left in the engine bay of my wife's car.

The weirdest tale is that I bought my first car, a Dart GT, from my grandmother when I was 17. She was the only owner. I found a pair of handcuffs in the trunk. Yeah. And before you ask, no, there wasn't any law enforcement in the family.

My buddy and I picked up a Jetta that he bought for $500 of a suspiciously-shady, overly-rich, and too-trashy of a looking character.

His driveway was lined with cheesy Porsches, you know, the kind you can get for $9999.99 straight CASH.

He was clearly a drug dealer of some kind.

Anyways, the Jetta was supposedly his 'Mother's Old Car' but when inspecting the Jetta we found drug paraphanalia and $400 cash in a zip lock bag.

$100 Jetta at the end of the day.

Yes, the ol' Dildo find. Once found a shoe box with a dildo and other weird goodies in an AMC Eagle.

lucky bastards, all i ever find is bees under the dash and old beer cans under the seat.

  17. I keep thinking when I read these threads that I should go to the junkyard once a week just to pull up the seats in all the latest arrivals. Who knows, maybe I'd make more there than if I worked in the place.

I did pull a vintage visor accessory registration or insurance card holder today out of a wrecked Suburban that looks like it was pretty nice before it hit something in the left front. Same one I got a brand new 285/80LT16 spare out of a month ago. Someone took the front seat out and there's Sonic coupons all over the floor - there's no Sonic anywhere around that I know of.

I found an unused 1959 day planner in the front yard of a neighbors' house after he was evicted.
A big ass adjustable wrench in the 53 chev. truck I m restoring.
Trunk full of damp pornos in a wildcat convertable at my uncles' junkyard as a kid.
In same junkyard, opened the hood of a rambler ambassador and found a new soft cooler in the battery tray, full of baggies of weed. My friend suggested that we run down to Lowe's and get a bottle of "WEED B GONE" to leave in it's place.

A person I know worked at wrecking yard in Southern California in the mid-1990s and was removing items from a recent-arrival car and found a photo album in the trunk. The album was of a stock car driver who raced at Ascot Park Gardena during the 1960s. The race car driver had just died and the family wanted to rid themselves of everything, even the memories of his racing days. How very sad. The person I know grabed the album and saved it which had very good photos then went on to crush the car.

A friend of mine was given a 68 Dart. Inside the dart he found a belt. He wore the belt for three years. One day, he was looking over the belt and found it was the kind you can hide money in. It had $300 in it. He walked around with $300 around his waist and never knew it. I lived in Milwaukee and the local slot car track had wooden nickels they gave you when you bought something. You redeemed these when you amassed enough of them to buy something. I moved to California and bought an old 54 Chevy. Inside the glove box was one of those wooden nickels from Tom's Hobby Shop in Milwaukee. Bought a 64 Buick once from one of those third string lots when I was younger and found a complete Lionel train set in the box hidden under boxes and blankets in the trunk.

I was 18 years old and working this shitty job at a dental lab. One of the guys that worked there (who was a dick, by the way) moonlighted at his buddy's impound lot- police and govt. seizure stuff. They always went through all of the cars when they came in and one time he found a couple hundred bux and a Rolex in a Porsche 911. I thought he was an even bigger dick then. :)

Back in 1980, I bought a '69 Camaro with a 250 inline and a 3-speed manual trans from a gal that was the original owner. She told me her dad bought it new for her just before she started college. Well anyway, I was going through the interior when I got it home and ended up finding a nice crispy 1969 vintage 50 dollar bill folded in half in the owners manual :) She probably put it in there when she first got the car in case of an emergency. Sorry to say the Camaro is long gone, but I still have that same 50 dollar bill. :)

I noticed early on someone mentioned having the Military Police check a "new" car for drugs. I've done that before, when I was USAF (retired three years ago after 24 years!). The local cops should be willing to do the same thing. If suspicious call and make an appointment! Good idea for some areas...

I've never found anything of particular interests... assorted loose change, few rusty tools, etc. Well, I did find some volunteer fire department maps in the trunk of a Rambler I picked up for parts years ago. It had a rod through the oil pan, left side of the block, and knocked a chunk out of the bottom of the bore and took out part of the camshaft. I guess the guy was on the way to a fire when the rod let loose. It was a recent rebuild from the pistons and such. Apparently one rod bolt hadn't been tightened properly or broke -- the other half of the rod cap was still hanging on! Those old flat-head sixes would hardly turn 3500 rpm flat-out, guess he was running about that when it broke. I got it for $100 with not title from the tow company. Ended up getting a salvage title and driving the thing -- with the motor from another Rambler I had been driving. Bought the car for the front end parts, which were totally worn out on my old ride, but it was less work to swap the engines.

  26. I know one shop that would buy cars at police auctions and flip them. A few years back, they got this Lincoln and were going through it. One door had a flapping panel and they pulled it to replace the clips. Inside the door were 2 one-kilo packages of some white powder. Which they promptly flushed, which I believe since they were non-drug using people.

My dad and i tow vehicles, and we towed in a vehicle that the owner was busted for drugs, the vehicle set in are storage building for over 10 yrs, it was a mint bronco (like the 1 OJ drove) finaly the feds gave the title to us instead of paying rent, we sold it and the guy who bought it was a part time cop and had a drug dog go threw it b4 he gave it to his son who lived in the big city, they ended up finding 30lbs of various drugs in the speakers etc all over, were just glad we didnt drive to truck to ab ig city and get pulled over, cuz the cops never would of believed that it wasnt r drugs!

My brother & I have operated an import repair shop for 29 yrs. In the early 80s I torched apart a bent VW front axle beam to get a Torsion arm bearing for a customers car. (Part was on backorder from VW). Inside the axle tube I found a Puma Cub lockback knife made in Germany on the blade. The knife is still in my tool box today.
