Progress report 1954 Ford "Ranch Wagon"

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Feb 21, 2010.

  1. Wagon build photos

I finally made a little progress this weekend,,hanging the fenders feels like a major step in the right direction.

I installed some of the front sheet metal and the front splash apron along with the re-chromed grill extensions and the NOS turn signal housings,,still a thousand and one things left to accomplish but it is actually starting to look like a car again after starting this project on 2-20-2003,,heck that's only 7 years ago!:D HRP

  11. Man, Danny, that is looking great!
I can't wait to see Brenda cruising in that car. She'll prolly have to look thru teary eyes and around the big grin just to drive it.

    Carry on!!!

  17. I have found alot of those Ranch wagons in the creek around Sheridan. There must have been a ton of them on the roads back in the day becuase of the rural location. If i had my personal computer hooked up I would post a pic of one just like your that i found a few years ago. your looks great. keep up the good work.

  20. I am so jealous. I need to do to mine what you are doing to yours, but I don't have your ambition. Very, very nice.

It's really coming together and with a good pace you should have that thing driving by summer! Love the color!

I went by HRP's place a few weeks back and the photos do NOT really show how NICE this wagon really is. He taking his time and doing everything in his power to make it RIGHT. No corners have been cut. If it needed it ... it got it.

    :)

  24. Thanks guys,,if I have learned anything working on this car is I now have a lot more appreciation and respect for anyone building the 50's and 60's cars,,you guys really have a lot of work to do.

Having built several Model A's and 32's and a few 40 Fords,,,they are easy compared to these cars that have many more parts to refurbish, paint and plate,,,

I'm looking forward to the day I can get started back on the 5-window coupe.:D HRP
