for the last 4 years i have been building a 52 pontiac cheiftain full custom, i bought the car off of ebay for 250 bucks and it had a really bad unfinished chop, was a 4 door but was just the challenging learning tool i wanted,i wanted to extend and expand my abillities as far as possible, and have cut ibto the roof 3 times all together, the plus side was the motor looks rebuilt and the rest of the body was decent but it was devoid of almost every thing except the basic shell. i have a long way to go,but with only about a day a week to work on it its moving along.
this will be my official progress thread that i will update from time to time

I can see from your pictures that this is not your first day on the bus. Looks like you know your way around sheet metal. Have you got any past projects that you can share with us?

I remember when you joined and when you started working on that old Indian...........and I've always been pro go!

But here's my own word of cautionary advice: Because the bodies are SO similar to Chevy's, don't blend the Pontiac out of it.

    Does that make any sense?

well there are certain characteristics that will remain an although they are similar, there are a few noticable differences. the plan has been evolving since day one, as for noticable pontiac characteristics, thats what i picked this indian up for, she'll retain all the stock trim handles and all even the straight 8 like the 52, itll just be slammed, ....hows things brandy? you still in bako?

Oh yah, I haven't figured out how to escape this town......altho I get a good run going before my lead whips my butt back like a yo yo.:D

Retaining the trim, especially the hood waterfall with Indian will TOTALLY scream Indian! WHOOT!:D

Looking forward to watching this thing come together. I've always wanted to see someone do this to a '52 Pontiac as they are PERFECT for this type of job. Looking great!
