Hay looks good for a quickie job. I'm rebuilding a 1946 Dodge looks similar to the 41 same chassis. We have a 49 "6 banger" and a 89 rear end in ours. Smokie is working on the new brake lines now. I haven't decided on paint anyone with some ideas on how we should proceed is welcome to chime in. I sorta going traditional 2 tone with some tas-tee pin stripe work. I do like the wood sides want to do something like that too.

Though one. That year Dakota has the Dakota/Durango only funky 6 lug pattern. I was told that you could put earlier Dakota (88-90) rotors to get the 5 on 4 1/2 pattern then you could swap rears or looking redrilling the axles and new drums from the earlier years. Then you would have a huge selection of wheels. Maybe to stay on the cheap, just look for someone parting an earlier one. Very cool swap and nice looking truck.

  11. My 53 Dodge is on a Dakota frame with the same crappy rims, but the old 15 inch mopar full wheel covers snap right on and hide them ugly things. Dont pay attention to the covers in the avatar, they have changed to 49 Dodge full covers.

Ive noticed a lot of these trucks coming out of the wood work over the past year. I bought my 40 almost a year and a half ago and was looking for parts everywhere and I found nothing. Last month I searched again and found all kinds of parts for these style trucks. I guess its just becoming harder and more expensive if you find a Ford or Chevy pickup laying around. I take it thats why people are finding and using these cabs now. Heres mine when I bought it and what Ive done a little so far. PICT0029.JPG
