It was kool that you were able to take the car to GNRS. I enjoyed checking out the pics.
Hopefully some day I'll see it in person. Now enjoy the drive......

    Happy Trails,

Congratulations, what a beautiful car, love the paint!

  10. Looks pretty good to me! Bright red would be bad on a Custom like that. Gold sounds great! Hope to see it when it's all painted and shiney!!!!

Just noticed it's already painted. WILD RIDE!!!!!!
    How about some better pic's?

  11. I'll try to blow it up...

I was wondering if you could do a bit of a rundown on how you did the door panels ? I have been thinking of doing something similar with high quality photocopies ( I fix color copiers for a living) of old little page magazines on the door panels of my 47 Ford. Thanks !

  27. My wife and I do signs for a living so this was kind of up our alley. The images were scanned from Gene Windfields book which is out right now and they are pics from his personal collection. The images were placed in a collage using sign software ,sized for the door and side panel and then printed on a large format sign printer on 3M sign vinyl for wraps and then a clear laminate was installed on that to prevent fading and scratching , It was then installed on 1/8" pvc sign board cut to fit the door panel and wrapped over the edges, then installed on the door using 3M 2 sided foam tape for a clean look no screws!

  28. Congratulations John, great to see you get the accolades you deserve! To all the rest of you, all of John's cars are first rate, and best of all, they get driven. :D We just need to get John, to add some more pics of the rest of them, to his profile album.

Got my July 2010 Rod & Custom mag today, congrats on the nice layout / article there.

Re: "then installed on the door using 3M 2 sided foam tape for a clean look no screws" - I had trouble with that stuff failing in the heat, maybe consider rare earth magnets? I got mine here:
