I'm looking for a set of garnish moldings for my '39 Ford coupe. A friend sent me a pair of rings but, obviously, not what I need. The only markings I could find on the edges are H17217 on one of them and H17218 on the other. Anybody have any idea what these fit? Thanks for any help. Mike

I was thinking maybe a 39-40 Chevy. Could they be Buick, Olds or Pontiac? Mike

They will be tough to identify from a picture. There were several 4 drs from several years as well as coupes that used a similar shaped 1/4 window. There are a ton of possibilities that would probably need to be matched directly to a known moulding.

Thanks Tommy, I hadn't even thought about 4-door cars. I was really hoping the part numbers on the frames might jog someone's memory. Appreciate the help, Mike

Well, if you have time, you might try calling some of the big suppliers-like Mac's for Fords and hope you get a helpful person that could/would reference that number for you.

From the picture, I would say Mike is correct. They look to be from a late 30's chevy coupe, most likely a 38.

Looks an awful lot like the moldings on the `37 Plymouth P3 coupe I had a few years ago. Just from comparing them to pics of the 37 I have, they look very similar.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. Still no definative answer to this mystery. The key is probably the part numbers stamped on them. Just real tough to find online info with part #'s. Any other suggestions?

Those numbers are not typical GM or Mopar part numbers.

37-48 many cars had quarter windows shaped like that.

I kinda' hoped the "H" would mean something like Hudson or Henweigh. No luck so far.
