I have a 36 Plymouth and the hinges on both doors are broken. Does anyone rebuild them or sell new ones? I don't want hidden hinges. Thanks for any help.
they shouldn't be too hard to find used but I don't think anybody is repopping them they should be the same as the '35 Plymouth and '35-'36 Dodge and possibly same year Desoto and Chrysler although they are very simple hinges and shouldn't be too difficult to make a set
anybody know if PlyDo is still in business? I never dealt with them but they advertised new and used parts.. I sold a '35 Dodge sedan carcas to a fellow HAMBer not too long ago, I'll send him a pm..
cruisin the net looking for PlyDo, finding a lot of negative chatter better things said about these guys: Andy Bernbaum might be worth a call
Thanks, the Andy site looks hopeful. I'm going to give them a call tomorrow. And they're not to far from home.
I have some used '37 door hinges, you can have them for the price of shipping, but I don't know how similar they are. Body style changed in '37. PM me with pictures of yours, and I'll compare them.
Andy is known as a bit high. Try http://www.mooresautosalvage.com/ Also try various searches on the net and checking Mopar forums about vendors.
Great thread, gals & guys. I've been in need of at least on front-door hinge for my '38 Plymouth. So, looks like osme definite possibilities here! THANKS!
Hi, 36 Desoto S-1 series should fit, but I don't know about the Airflow. I need the lower passenger side front door hinge if that doesn't break up the set that Marcia needs. How are the complete front doors? What else is good on the car? Thanks, Bob
Hi. Door hinges are really hard to find from the 30's. Plydo.com is in business and they have alot of parts that no one else has. I am in need of 34 plymouth coupe doors. When I do find them, Im going to repop them and sell them.... I got supposed a clean door from them only to have it swiss cheesed..They took care of me with free parts to make up for it. I guess the deal was just ok...
Im going to build my own hinges. Im tired of looking. I will offer them for sale. I will leave the arms to be cut and drilled to suit for other than 33-34 plymouth coupes...
Thanks everyone, for all the info. I have spent the winter working on the 33 Dodge. Maybe I'll get back to the Plymouth next year.
