I know this is pretty much out of line with what you're asking but what the hell, you alway seem to be pretty open to input and man enough to not take it personally so I'm just going to let it fly.

The third one looks best. First tail looks like "Cheers" and the second is a baseball team. But the ear on the "g" across the board looks like a teletubby.

In all honestly the rest of this car is so designed and full of detail that I'm wondering if swoopy multicolor lettering would be overkill. Maybe not 583 polished and pinstriped louvers on a truckbed overkill or anything, but still...

I think it's really asking for a single color slightly condensed san-serif font.

Just get Josh Shaw to do the lettering and it will be perfect.

Input always welcome. I keep swaying back and forth between what I posted and what you said. Looking at old photos, logos are split about 50/50 between logo-y and overtly simple.

Well, how can I put it... this guy said it best hehehe

I see nothing wrong with the baseball type underline and thought it was actualy a good place for the "special" and I wanted to try it 1st before saying anything. Sadly, I didn't find your original fonts so I went with others for the time being and even went a little further by also including the "18".

    Hand painted Please!!!!!!

Honestly, if you have your favorite striper handle it you probably cant go wrong. Give him your sheet with the three ideas on it and turn him loose. He'll get the color right and make it flow.

You cant tell those artsy guys anything, they know just what too do.................

I'm not sure on logos... I think if it was mine I'd just give a striper my ideas and let 'em take over... I think simple would be best.. With maybe a little gold leaf..

You could always name it the Cum Dumpster... but that would require a whole different font...

After looking at Seret's avatar, I expected you to be a designer :D

I agree with getting some pro to do ya a simple hand drawing just to bounce ideas around...

Not that you're not a pro heheheh

    word.
I know my opinions is just that, but that car needs nothing but to be driven... and that white horse.

If you got to put some number and lettering on it... less is more.

I dig how the letters match the "18"... but the typeface makes it read "LEG-IONE" not "legion". Makes me think it might be a filthy Italian word.

Or worse - look quick, squint - it reads "religion"

logo input, not that you asked...
The "L" just kills that logo for me, I think its because of that awkward ascender on the "g". Other than that, its looking awesome.

oh yeah, x100 on handpainted, but i'd be surprised if you weren't planing that already anyway...

Definitely hand-painted, of course. I like the odd ascender, in fact I pulled it down to about 2/3 of it's original height.

That font they used for that comic strip is sooo over used.

This one is pretty good too but could perhaps benefit from a white and red outline on the lettering to break that "G" up from the swoop. I think something like this would be perfect where space is an issue.

    Lookin' good....
Everyone seems to be commenting on the logo, And I completely agree.. It still needs a little fine tuning.. I dig the "18" but I think "Legion' does need a little help, I don't know if this makes any sense but it looks a little "fonty" and computer generated...

Hand painted is def the only way to go, and maybe you should let the painter make suggestions... There are still some great hand letterers out there.. John "Waldo" Glaspey is a very good hand painter out of Ventura, Ca... His typography is amazing.... http://thewaldoplace.com/

I have this original (drawn in color pencil & marker)

It might cost you more to get someone like Waldo to design the logo & hand letter it.. but I personally think it's the only way to go...
