That's the problem... Notice how few and far between my updates are?... I spend too much time doin other things and not enough time in the garage.

Not much of an update but at least it's something...

My buddy Mario came up for the day and helped me out with some of the finish welding on the motor mounts, k member and suspension mounts so all of the major welding is done.

With the frame being stock wheelbase and the car being channeled 4 inches, the motor gets into the firewall a good amount. I kept going back and forth on how I wanted to recess the firewall and when it was all said and done I wasn't happy with how it looked... My solution was to just build a firewall out of a sheet of aluminum. I traced the old firewall outline onto a sheet and cut it out. After a bit of trimming I'm pretty happy with how it fits. I'll probly just run it bare for a while and when the car gets some shiny paint down the road I was thinking I may get it polished and engine turned.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'm gonna get the frame and all of the suspension parts sandblasted and hit them with a coat of paint. I wanna get all of the frame, suspension, and drivetrain completely finished and put together and then work on finishing up the body.

Hopefully it will all be downhill from here... Yeah right.

Well... I finally have an update worth posting. Got the frame, rearend, and some 80 something parts media blasted, primed and painted. Started putting stuff back together hopefully for the final time and got it back to a roller.

I finished up welding the new subframe I build for the body and got that painted. Need to put a couple more finishing touches on the frame... Get all the plumbing back on, trans and driveshaft in, and then get the body back on. Heres some pics...

Adding that paint must make it feel like you're in the home stretch. It's really a great project!

What a pisser of a car you are building.

The last car I built is pictured....went to OK City and started winning trophies 2 weeks after arriving. That was 6 years ago, before channelled, unchopped 30-31 coupes were hot.

Makes me want to do it again.

Also makes me want to be as young as you young studs are.

    Keep up the great work!!

I see that you switched from ladder bars to hairpins, could you not use the ladder bars with the Dagel's crossmember? I was planning to use the same part's myself.

You got it... Ladder bars were a little long. Could have got a little creative and made them work but the hairpins were easier.

Very cool project. I remember seeing you post photos quite a while back when you started this. It's great to see how far you've come with it. Getting close to the finish line --- keep it up!!

I'm not picking, just asking, but is your engine set at a 45? Because it looks like the dizzy is lower than the rest of the engine.........or its my laptop not sitting on my lap flush. =O)

I love the car, its a keeper!
