I really got to figure out how to get this thing like the photo. the more I look at this picture the more I am feeling it.
if i have to either slow to a crawl or avoid a speed bump altogether. then it is an unusable vehicle and therefore worthless to me. if a mere pothole will wreck my day. i wont own it. so i like lowered but it has to be sensible.
when mine had the stock frame i did 4 inch blocks in the back and cut the springs in front and it sat pretty good. now i got it on a bagged s10 frame and it can lay frame on 20's
There is no ride like a low ride <object width="425px" height="360px"> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"/> <param name="movie" value="http://mediaservices.myspace.com/services/media/embed.aspx/m=102750455,mr=103404888,t=1,mt=video"/> <embed src="http://mediaservices.myspace.com/services/media/embed.aspx/m=102750455,mr=103404888,t=1,mt=video" width="425" height="360" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent"/> </object>
I love the look of a gasser, but i am more of a lowered/slammed kinda of guy, everything looks better low
Well since I am into classic 4x4s, I like to see them stock or witha bit of a lift. But as far as two wheel drives go, a little low is ok too. I'm trying to convince my wife to let me lower her '62 f100 short bed, but she wants me to convert it over to a four wheel drive.
I once seen a gmc safari van SLAMMED. There is such a thing as too low. It was channeled, bagged and sectioned. It was laying frame and the roof was at my waste level. Im 5'8".
I don't want a car if it doesn't drive but I like them as low as possible. As long as pinnion angle, alignment and transmission, & oil pan clear, put that bitch on the ground.
I have driven extremely low cars off and on, on a daily basis, for over twenty years. A low car is not that really that hard to live with. When I was 18-20 I had several mini trucks that were very low; for example, I could hit a beer can laying on it's side if I hit the brakes while passing by, and I used this thing to deliver pizzas for a few years. I thought that was extreme, and I'd never have a car that low again(I'm 41 now). I went and looked under the front of my daily driver '87 Chevy truck the other day, and the lower A-Arm would knock over a beer can at ride height. I drive it like a regular car; maybe not like a truck, but I have hopped curbs, I don't really slow down for speed bumps, etc., you get the idea. My opinion is, if the engine or oil/trans pan isn't the lowest part of the vehicle, low is the way to go. Sure looks cool!
I like all the above statements."laying frame" just looks like a broken car to me.But then again I have a history of "not getting it" when whatever "it" is is the "in" thing with the kool kids Paul
if you ever DO "get it" P.M. me and give me some pointers ok? BTW i live in the country and a low rider wouldnt last a week around here. hell my driveway would tear it up.......
I'am gonna say it depends on what it is.I like 47 to 54 low but some of the older stuff kinda like a rake on it just my 2cents
