DollKustom, Yep I was there! I didn't know what to expect in the middle of all those tumbleweeds but the up close access to so much kool made it one of my favorite shows last year. I'm hoping Gene W checks out all this art awesomeness today.

51ddmae, Wild mix of work. "Picnik" is classic and deserves to be on a shirt.

dustdevil, Keep scratching! Crazy you mention Jr High art class - that's what I'm drawing from too. Secret's out.

**** just so you're aware.. i do know how to spell cadillac... the lettering on the painting i posted reads ca-DIE-lac because it's a hearse.. a funeral car... just a play on words.... i already got one PM about it... so i figure there's a few more that missed my intent.... :)

Bo.. i'm sure somebody will let him know you're shouting out... last week i had one for Kirk jones.. he was on the show board lickedy split!

I know art tastes are very personal, but just wanted to compliment your work. The graphic appeal (particularly of the first two) is fantastic. I'm headed to your website next.

  16. Good to see you on here finally DD! Great work as always, hey Denise very kool stuff keeps spilling from your mind. I still love your kustom cars!

    Cheers,

    Chris.

  17. Some nice work here gang.

I posted this very late last week and shortly after the show as pulled to, understandably, reduce traffic on the H.A.M.B. So, if you will indulge me a bit, I re-present the latest in the overtly Off Topic, (with permission) continuing saga of what
was and is the hidden history of the BETA project...
(Note: all styling cues and similarities to real cars are intentional and are intended to
stereotype the designs of that era.)

I even envisioned a body style more in keeping with the intermediate sized 'Personal luxury Car's" long hood, short deck design theme. I opted for the more Riviera like styling with Ford like cues.

  18. And here's the next one...

Wow, this flats racer got me to thinking about concept; If the original SoCal bellytank car was a discard from a WWII P-38 (correct?) what modern war implement would make for a lake-car?

Does this count? I call it "DeToNaTiOn!"... 15 coats of nitrocellulose lacquer over a hand-made honduran mahogany body with tortoise-bound figured maple headcap and fretboard, gotta rub it out this weekend and assemble... I've got a matching 8w vacuum tube amp in the works for it built from the same mahogany/maple with a keyed ignition switch for an on/stby switch too.:D
