I learned to drive way back in 1959 when I was 10 years old in a car just like this wood bed and all. BUT it had a winch type thing on the front and my cousins and I used it to plow snow out of my grandmothers huge back lot with it. Parents were smart back then "teach them to drive and get the driveway plowed by the kids and then we won't have to go out in the cold ourselves". One vote for keeping the wood.

I'm with you, keep it as is until all the pieces to correct the old modifications are found and ready to install. Hcek by that time you might have found another roadster body and decide to keep this one as it is for as long as you own it.
I would Love to get another roadster, but afraid I just can't afford it, nor do have have the storage room. I was only able to afford this one, because it was cut like that.
So it has been a pretty busy week. I have been making some stuff myself that is pretty neat. I will post pics later, but so far I have dropped an axle, reversed the eyes on a spring, and dropped the headlight bar, like I have already shown. Will post pics probably tomorrow.
So here are a few pics from my phone: Here is my A axle I dropped Here it is out of the Jig I forgot to take a pic before I started, but here it is flattened out... halfway done
Not in either of our lifetimes unless we end up in prison together...No, not even then. But you did do a nice job on the axle. So, why don't we just let it go at that?
Nice job on the axle.It would be great to see the whole procedure.Or are you saving that for the next 'Tech Week'?I would.LOL Mark
Someone else made the Jig. I pulled it out of storage to give it a try, beings it never had a succesfull drop. Titus did a pretty good thread queit a while ago. I will post some more pics, including the jig later.
how about a shot of the rear of the box.how they did it all you need is the ration gas sticker. billy
So here is some quick shots of the axle dropping procedure. This is the second axle I did. Kind of had to control the heat, bottle jacks, check geometry, and snap pics all at the same time
