Now pull it done and get it happening so we can all see your progress.

Probably the "War on poverty", during the depression a lot of model A's were turned into trucks to be more usefull. A lot of coupes were made into trucks by taking off the deck lid and rear panel, then a wooden box was put in there place. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Don't let anyone discourage ya......looks cool, but I'd try to continue the body line around the back of the truck.

Man, these dont look to bad with the sedan back panel used as the back of the cab, but I may be just too used to seeing it done that way.

My opinion, is the 90degree angle that wraps the entire back of the cab where the flat plate was welded in is the sore spot. That and from the back, it sure looks tall above that rear window. Carl Hagan

 

I like it....different. I see alot of potential on this. The fenders look really cool on it.

I agree with rustyhood. I would like to see more of this truck. The gage pod that you can bearly see through the window makes me wonder about the dash.

 

If it turns out half as nice as your Sedan it will be great looking. Did you make it to Turlock last weekend? I didnt see alot of the usual crowd.

 

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Not a great picture, I'm having trouble with posting pictures from photoshop. When I first got it their was wood for the back, so it could be some post war thing. The dash is from a 53 ford car, top is from a 89 Lincon mark 7, don't think I spelled that right. Ya, back is a tough one. Your idea about the body line in the back is a good idea, we added the one behind the door. The motor is a 292 Y-block and I have a 3 duece manifold and offy valve covers. I will try to get better pics and more progress reports.

 

Roger, Your truck is going to be real sharp. Will it be fullfendered with running boards and all ?
What kind of tranny behind the Y-Block ? I have a'31 "A" Coupe with a Marine Y-Block adapted to a '47 Ford truck open drive trans.
Looking forward to following your progress as you build this.

Sorry, haven't posted for some time, will be full fendered with runnning boards and no spalsh aprons. will post some new pictures soon as the cab has been painted.

 

Rogers lil' hauler is coming along real well....few bugs to get out but another Y-Block Hot Rod.

 

Looking good. I need to stop by your neighborhood and check out all the new stuff, I've been out of the loop for too long.

DUring the war time you could get more gas coupons for a pickup. So people made theirs cars look more like pick ups.

 

Wow, Thats turned out real nice, just like i figured.

 

Roger is a real trooper....suffers from a kidney disease but does not let it run him down...just keeps building Hot Rods and living life to the fullest. I will also be building a chassis for him soon for a Dodge bucket.
