Its' relatively easy and cheap... Go to the pull-a-part yard, get the electric opening mechanism out of a Pontiac, Olds, Chev Impala, Buick, etc...take it all - the latch, the mechanism, the wiring and the button out of the dash... Usually it's one hot wire, a ground to the mechanism and the hot wire to the button on the dash... Bolt it in in place of your old key thingie and put the "catch" on the bottom......climb inside the trunk and close but keep it wired up so you can get out... check to see if it lines up and keeps the trunk closed (and it opens like it supposed to)...if it does, you're done. do not get into that trunk and close it shut!!!!! it's better to get your mother in law to do that!!!
Oh yeah, LOL...I forgot to mention that you should get someone you don't like to climb in the trunk and close it... R-
I used my stock latch and just reversed it. I then ran a wire through the trunk floor to operate it. Look at my photbucket page for pics and by all means ask any questions that you may have. Todd
