If he's that detailed about his models, what would he do with a real car...

  3. It might of been said before but these look so real, unbelieveable.

Small town USA back in the day. So much detail that the cars even shine in some of the photos.

NOT to rain on the parade, but many of the models appear to be diecast. Regardless, the buildings and photography are just amazing to me. Gary

  13. The only thing lacking is scale model litter. If it had some trash laying around, you would feel at home.
Truly a beautiful group of dioramas and catching shots of real objects way in the background is awesome.

All the car models are diecast. Either Danbury or Franklin Mint 1/24th scale.

You have to keep telling yourself that they are just models and the street scenes are scale. Incredible work, I'll bet he could build a bitchin hot rod.

Wow isn't even a strong enough word for that. Not just one, but who knows how many. Seems almost endless. Wonder if this guy even has time to eat.

Many years ago I read an article on how that sort of photography is done. The trick is to use actual daylight and an actual outdoor background; and the smallest aperture you've got, so you don't get depth-of-field effects. It's the shallow depth of field that gives away a model photo.

I'd done some of that myself with architectural models, set up on barstools on the flat roof of a tallish building and oriented the way the design is intended to be, so the shadows will be accurate. I'd compose the shot to include just a bit of real-life horizon, it's much more realistic. I once helped out a student with photos of his final thesis project. He almost flunked because they thought he'd copied a real building!

Wow, nice work. The models may be die cast but he must have hundreds of hours in the buildings and background plus some great photography skills.

The house in the photos is very close in design to a real one that I owned 25 years ago. That in it's self added a bit to it for me.
