It will only be original once.

Before you even consider changing the tires remember you're modifying something that has been exactly as you found it for at least forty years.

That won't happen again in your lifetime.

    very cool find!!!!!
One question I have tho is there any way to tell the integrity of the cage itself? coming from a stock car background I've seen a lot of cages that look good from the outside but are rusted badly on the inside and can not be seen. Dont want to rain on your parade just concerned thats all.......Jim

I agree with those that say 'leave it alone'. Get it running, rebuild what needs rebuilding and you'll have rolling history.

ITEM number is 230428641774 if you want to check it out.

economic times is exactly what it is. I own a bandsaw manufacturing bussiness and you got to do what you have to do. I really dont have any other option. it really sucks

No kidding! I love how everyone thinks making some money and doing right by your family is somehow wrong.

Sucks you gotta sell it, but like you said--a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
Anyone who gives you shit about it is simply someone who's never had anything to lose in life.

  14. I only know of one bandsaw manufacturer in MN. If it is the company I'm thinking of I own one of your C305A bandsaws.
Damn nice equipment. Keep the faith, business is coming back!!

I just bought this car today! I'll keep you all posted ASAP. I haven't pick it up yet, to much salt on the roads!
I just read this whole thread and will need all the input I can get.
Thanks for all the input so far!
The rearend is a '57-64 Olds.
I need to check the rear wheels, to see if they are magnesium?
The tranny has a planetary in it?
    Thanks;

Do you think we should try to put reverse back in it? The shaft is in it, but no reverse idler gear?

  19. Depends on what you want to do with it. It likely had all the unnecessary stuff removed when it was put together, but current rules require the transmission to have reverse to race it.

We want to run this thing when we can, Outlaw, hotrod drags and anywhere they'll let it!
1/8th and 1/4 mile but don't want to up date it and lose the real feel / look from back in day when it ran.
We don't want to change anything!
I get the rules, safety and insurance stuff, but just want to put on a show!

Same here...I feel ya. I just recently had to sell my 31 Sedan for the same reason. Luckily, I was blessed with a 62 falcon soon after. That car ended up being better than free.

  26. Bitchin! I always hoped some of the cars, that used to tear up mn dragways, were hidden away in garages, & not sent to the scrap heap, in the "disco era"! I even found an old 55 chev gasser, sittin in a yard up in northern mn, sure as hell, when i was digging around in it, I found a dragways timeslip in the glovebox!! pretty faded, but definately a keeper!

I guess since thats the way it was thats the way id leave it, but it wouldnt hurt to have all the gears in it when you run her and move her aroun.

You need to get it running and take it to the msra's super secret fun run and drag her!

and put a hilborn back on her, id almost garuntee thats what was on it, jusdging buy the hilborn filter (is there a shut off next to the filter by where the moon tank was?) and the pressure pump.
