Ok, I'll beg the question. There are alot of up coming forum members that plainly don't know. I think it would be an Ideal thread to give a tutorial in identifying the differences according to the years and models, and why they get mixed-up. Anyone?
O K 1928 - 1931 Fords are Model A's 103.5 inch wheelbase and the radiator shells do not have a grille. The door edges overlap the body. The fuel neck is in the cowl. 1932 Ford 106 inch wheelbase. The radiator shell DOES HAVE a grille. The door fit flush. 1932 was the first Ford to have a fuel pump ... so the fuel tank was in the rear. 1932 is the only Ford that the frame shows from a side view. LOOK at the fuel tank on the 1932 Ford tudor below 1933/1934 Ford 112 inch wheelbase. The grill is chrome ... They were a little larger and more streamlined than the earlier Fords. The doors open " backwards " ( but the 1932 Ford 3W coupes did it first ) I am sure others can add on better information ...
The 28-31 Model A's also had a windshiled visor but they stopped that in 32. I believe the 28 and 29 A's were a bit different than the 30 and 31 A's. Not sure exactly what the differences were. Anybody?
Many. At a glance, '28-29 had a sweeping cowl line coming off the windshield posts toward the bottom of the car. This was changed completely for '30-31. If it's got a visor, good chance it's a Model A. There are a lot of guys swapping this stuff around to make interesting and subtle customs, but generally the door/cowl area looks like this for the year breaks. '28-29 '30-31
The '30, '31 Victoria, '31 A-400, and '31 "slant windshield" fordor did not have a visor. The kinda looked like a squared off '32 above the windshield.
Model T engines had no distributor , Model A's have one;The model 'B' was the 4 cylinder version for the 1932 model year , '32 was the last year for the headlight cross-bar for the car
