Do you know if that was an Ansen one or a Blair's Speed shop? I believe Blair's made them too.

yeah, wasn't that at all. We had a dumbass attack and put the clutch together wrong. You'd think with as many times as we have had this thing apart and back together we wouldn't make a mistake like that. Broke the clutch in the process. So the car has a new clutch and 30 lb. Hayes flywheel now. Problem solved.

Started on the exhaust the other day.

I ordered some Hooker 3-2 1/2 reducers and 2 2 1/2 J bends. The pipes had to drop a little to clear the frame so I could kick them out the side. I trimmed the one reducer to make up for the slight stagger in the headers.

These changed the tone of the car little. I think the cork screw shape of the bend creates an interesting flow for the exhausts and it resulted in a cool sound.

I did this last night. I was inspired a little by the "Badman" and I cut and flaired the side-outs.
welded in some pieces to fill it up.
Ground down the welds and trimmed the edge to the correct angle.
The angle of this picture makes the openings look different, but they are the same.

opening them up like a megaphone makes the car cackle like hell. It has a real badass sound. Next step is to run up to the old Warshawsky Muffer man shop and see what kind of ScatCat glasspacks we can dig up. I have to weld a flange on these side-outs for a cap to bolt to, and then route exhaust inside the frame for the glasspacks.
