Were you not able to contact him? If you can't your best bet will be Sheltons Salvage on Monday morning. You didn't say why you needed the flywheel, is the ring gear on it bad?
dieselc-----try Marc Lawrence-618-249-6469--small salvage yard--his number same as his house number--bout 10 mile from you--Marc's kool guy...but it's sunday and he's got sheep to feed-- and a bttt fer ya
I got ahold of him but he did not have one but gave me the number to a guy, but I could not get ahold of him. I need the flywheel cause it broke the center out because the previous owner put an engine in and left out 2 critical bolts the support the bottom of the engine to the trans, so the bottom of the engine was pushing away from the the trans.
Thanks I will call him after 12, we decided to rent a car for my girl to drive back to cincy, and I will stay here to get the truck up and going. I have some vacation time to use from work so, Im hoping I can get it done.
any luck . i called some local places here and nothing .i checked on mid 90's truck . what year truck ttt
Mine is a 99 I found this chart on Pioneer autoparts they make a replacement flexplate. 1992-1994 Dodge B150 1998-1998 Dodge B1500 1992-1994 Dodge B250 1995-1998 Dodge B2500 1992-1994 Dodge B350 1995-1998 Dodge B3500 1993-2000 Dodge Dakota (4471321, 5014273AA, 53020521, 53020583AB) 1994-2000 Dodge Ram 1500 1994-2000 Dodge Ram 2500 1994-2000 Dodge Ram 3500 1992-1993 Dodge Ramcharger 1993-1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee But I think it has to be a 5.9 liter gas engine. Big list so I would not think it would be hard to find.
Has anybody tried to source parts from Effingham? Dust & Son used to be the hot ticket. Not but 70 miles up 57. They have a warehouse too. O'Reilly store to source from their warehouse in Springfield MO? If they're not lazy, they can check stock with the same computer they bill stuff on. Those parts guys need to get creative, it's not that hard. If I was still up there, and in the parts business there, you would have parts in hand.
Weld it back together to get home, if your in a pinch im sure it has been done and would work. good luck JEFF
Man these things are made of unobtainium when you need them, struck out again thank you for the number rockyfarmer. I would like to thank everyone that has helped out, Im just going to keep searching its out there. I would weld it up titus but theres some pieces missing and its also externally balanced so it would probably break something.
There is a truck salvage yard in woodlawn. It would be the next exit going west on I64 towards st. louis. I am about 45 minutes from mt. vernon wish i could help ya
i think Dave Shelton will be yur best bet--monday morning--it's a pretty big truck only salvage yard. How bout a couple more pics of that roadster to entertain us while ya wait? ttt
Funny you say that cause I was sitting here snapping pics from my war room for the past 24 hours, and a view from my window.
Neals auto parts here in Peoria has one but they are also closed until monday. If you cant source one from down there give me a call and we will make the 3 hour trip down there on Monday. pm for number Derrek
Hey man, I can't help you from were I'm at...but what if you got ahold of one of one of the guys on Craigslist with an engine for sale. Take the flywheel, order a new one from Napa or werever, pay for it, and put it in will call under the dudes name selling it to you...I would do that to help a guy out. Actually I'd give you the FW but thats just me. Bitchin roadster!
Thanks chris, well tomorrow I will be able to find one for sure as the salvage yards will be open, I was hoping to make it out of here before monday.
Well it looks like there are a few here locally in salvage yards, but I have to wait till tomorrow to get one, oh well another night away from home. It will be a good story.
