A-V8 roadster mock up done, what do ya think?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris, Jan 22, 2010.

  1. Some are probably tired of seein this thing, but I got the car pretty much as mocked together as its gonna get. Everything is hooked up, pedals work, ect. Now I just gotta strip it back down, finish welding everything, run brakes lines and put it together. I am no craftsman but am proud of how it's turning out. It will be getting different tailights too. What do you guys think?

looks great Chris. Watching your builds has inspired me to keep the model A frame under my 30 roadster

  8. Looks great! Find someone on your side of the Rockies to come buy the Model A coupe and you can supervise its build.

I dig the Crap out of it! I know a guy locally that has a Roadster Body that is rough, i think it's a '30 or '31, and years ago somebody welded the doors shut! I could have bought the thing for $50.00 about thirty years ago, but, i was young and dumb at the time and didn't want to mess with it.Now, it's inside, and the current owner will not let go of it, although he hasn't done anything to it!When i see yours, it makes me sick!!
But, as they say, persistance pays off! I'm not gonna give up on trying to get it!
    Adios-

Here's the cliche question: What are the tire sizes? I like it.

Hey Chris your roadster is looking great! It is going to be a geat early style hot rod. What are using for a steering box? What are you going to do for paint?

What did you figure out on the manifold hitting the steering box?

    looks great simple yet elegant

  25. Hey Mark!

Steering Box is an F-1 with a Model A mounting flange attached. I'm taking the box to hone the new bushings to fit the sector right now.
For paint, I'm going to paint the frame, engine, tranny and such. Body will probably remain as-is for this year but I am going to put a drivers side wheel well in it. You know I like rat rods ;)

Did that 32 fuel sending unit show up yet?
