I've got a 230 Plymouth in the works. It's shaping up pretty nice. I recently scored a nice Tattersfield intake for it, complete with carbs and linkage.
It's not mine but I saw this blown GM 6 in a Kurtis 500 at Hillsborough lastweekend. They fired it up and it sounded really neat!
Slant six with a 471 blower in my T bucket, my son has a turbo'd slant in his 30 coupster and I have a normally aspirated slant in my HA/GR. Can't tell we like the slants, can you? Robert
292 with lump port head and 1.94/1.6 valves, Offy intake, Edelbrock 600, and HEI. Next upgrade is a dual exhaust, then plan on a lumpy bumpstick and 307 Chevy pistons for get the CR outta the weeds.
'58 235. Race cam, 30 over bore job. Fully built and ballanced. Fenton 2 carb intake, Fenton split exhaust. I have 2 of them. One built and the other about to be built. One is going in my 53 Chevy the other is going in my 31 Ford Pickup.
Here is a picture of mine: Here is a whole thread about it... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=263440&showall=1 I LOVE straight sixes!
Chevy, Ford, Mopar, any other junk.....don't matter An Inline six is as Kewl as cat ####... You tell'em Flagon
<== Got a '23T Ford altered roadster w/ a 300 Ford. Runs 147mph in the quarter. Naturally aspirated On gasoline
And her engine ain't bad either. I've got a 216 in the garage, just trying to find something to put it in. Jay
You fellas dont have some of the inline ford sixs we in ozz put in falcons. I'v got a 221 falcon with a Aust 2V head, tripple SU's speedway cam in a hambster. pulls 13.1 @ 102 mph on the 1/4 nearly finished build no 2. A 225 slant NOT. I call it an errect six as opposed to slant. Its in a 1924 Morris Cowley chassie Miller styled body daytona speedway drag car. Well how else can I explain it. Pics on my hamb site. next one will be powered by a 300 Cu" F100 motor.
I'm going to put this Edelbrock 2X2 with 2 Carter Webber 2 barrels... on this '58 261... here's the 'Captains Bars' on the 261 Chevy just north of the starter....
Here are some more pics of Ford 300s. The first one is my crossflow altered engine. Just under 500 HP, normally aspirated on gasoline. The next one is my replica champ car Offy killer This last one is a friends 10 second Comet
Mine’s a 1955 235 w/ .080” overbore, Fenton repop intake, dual Rochesters, split manifold, 261 cam, and Pertronix ignition and am already planning a killer 261. The only speed part I ever saw in person was a vette’ exhaust manifold for $1000 which encouraged me to make my own valve cover, air cleaner, and side cover.
INLINE...thank's for posting, and ROXY you go girl, that's 1 very unique intake. i had a ford 300 c.i. inline 6 cyl. and believe me if i was going to hop up any 6, it would definately be the ford 300 c.i....POP.
I know you guys are probably tired of seeing mine but too f#*kin' bad . Just kidding. My 218 Plymouth is all stock except for the intake and headers. It has 99xxx miles and it feels like it but with the intake and 3 carbs it is a significant difference over stock. Here you go; BloodyKnuckles
Where did you find that Edelbrock manifold???!!! I told Santa I was a good boy, but he brought me the Clifford that everybody else has. Man oh day, that thing is beautiful. Never seen that piece before. Very nice.
Maybe you guys have already seen this thread, but here's a link to what we are working on for the 235-261 Chevy inliner. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=436184 Thanks, Kevin
Just picked up this '54 261 bored out to 280. This mill was created by a retired GM machinist from the Flint, MI plant. We jury-rigged the Edelbrock 2x2 intake just to hear her run. Took us 1200 miles in two days from central VA. Going to change the color, the home-made headers don't work w/the intake so I'll use my Fentons. Notice the oil pan was enlarged for a GMC oil pump increasing capacity a couple quarts.
