that's kinda the way mine is... you have to really appreciate it for what it is.

a lot of times, when someone finds out I have a 32 coupe, they get all excited, but then they see it and it's like they're dissapointed, haha...

but whatever...in my mind, when I look at it, it IS a REAL east coast hot rod...I love it...

some guys say it's a shame NOT to change mine, but I kinda think it would be a shame IF I DID change it...

It sucked then, it still does. Ugly is as ugly does. There is very little to recommend this
getting so excited about unless your easily amused. Lets get back to traditional rods and customs OK?

Bruce will LOVE this thread! Here is the Coupe and '55 Chevy with his wife on the hood, Dover Drag Strip 1961, YES, that is Hellzappon that sold on eBay last month for $5,250. next to the Coupe. Tim Hallock's Blown SBC Lyndwood and Chevy pickup are close to the camera.

Wow that picture is awesome! thank you! Look how bad ass those guys are.... and the girl on the hood..... damn. You think they thought it was "Ugly"?

It crazy that a picture from the early 60's could be so offensive to some.... and off topic? really? How is that possible?

    hhaha bitches...

    I still think its great....

Those pics of coupes curt posted are amazing too....

    wheelies are cool.

Hey! That's My Coupe! I built it in '58 to race, what it looked like was not a major consideration, how fast it went was! 11.9s -12.0s at 114 was good enough in '61 & '62 to win 75% of the time at Dover Drags, in New York. All my money was in the engine, Herbert roller cam, Forgedtrue pistons, Hilborn injection was top of the line in '58. It ran a 4.30 Olds rear and Cad-LaSalle 2 spd trans. Bruce Hertel

  15. Now that's the power of the HAMB! Thanks for posting Bruce. We would love to hear some stories of what you were doing back then.

  16. hows that for the poop-dick neysayers, built in '58 to go fast. Just about as traditional as it gets for me.

Bobbleed, Thanks for starting this thread! I still have that magazine that featured Bruce's 5Window. It was very special to me back then, a "Local" car featured on a magazine cover, it wasn't untill a few years ago that I found Bruce on the internet, and sent him thaty photo with his Chevy tow car that is wife is sitting on. That is my favorite Dover Drag Strip photo, it just captures so much pit action. Sorry the quality of the digital of the 8x10 is so poor. Dino should add a few related photos from his site. Bruce, if you are reading this did your Coupe or rail ever run side by side with "Alley Oop" the Danbury Modifiers car I'm restoring?
