i know people are gonna say..its up to me ...but should i buy this 47 lincoln zephyr??? is it hard to get parts ??? thanx in advance.
If your going to restore it, ya, pain in the ass getting parts. If your going to rod or customize it, who cares. Go for it.
lets just say i have enough to get it and its a really good deal..but im just wondering cause i dont know JACK about old lincolns...haha..
there were no zephyrs past 1942 after the war, they were the same..but were not zephyrs..just lincolns or continentals.
Continentals are the 2door Lincolns with Continentals, Continentals came in 2 body styles, Coupes and Cabriolets, ONLY, 1940-48. All other 46-48 Lincolns were simply Lincolns...the Zephyr name was last used in 1942. The automotive term Continental Kit referring to a decorative covered spare tire mounted at the rear with the extended bumper came directly from the 40-48 Lincoln Continentals.
they were called continentals if they had a continental kit on the back. i can't see if that one has it.
I like it. I see its got AZ plates.. is it near you? and if not one of us here on the hamb in az would probably look at it for ya. If its near me i could look at it for ya.

Load that puppy on the trailer with the engine towards the front. Get a heavy duty trailer, too. It's freakin' heavy!
hotrod-Linkin: A continental kit in the back is one thing. A Lincoln Continental is something else, an exclusive low production volume car with the spare wheel mounted in the back, not a car with a "continental kit". Pasadenahotrods is 100% right.
we weren't arguing the point. i could not see the pics. my computer did not load them...i was just making general refewrence without the aid of a pic.
I don't see any "fire in the belly" for this car. If were no more entheused than to ask something about price I would pass. Frank
