So I've had this piece of a Dynaflow kicking around for a few years. I always thought it'd make a cool clock. Today I got off my ass. I took the cheasy cheap clock off the wall in one of the offices and took it apart. Mocked it up on. A little cutting and fitting later and I had a cool one of a kind clock. I even made a new Kustom face. Now it just needs a bit of chrome. A headlight ring will soon surround the lense...
Thanks guys, I've been moving this thing around the shop or the garage since i took the Dynaflow out of the 57 10 years ago. I finally moved it to get to something this morning and that was it. Clock time.
Very creative! Sounds like a great thread to start up. You know, things that others have made out of old parts and what not.
That's better than mine. looks nice. I can't imagine it will last long before some Flake finds its way on it. My cheap shop clock the battery ran out at 5:10 so I left it there, I guess it's always shop time at my house.
Are you saying destroy the natural patina? It's still needs to be cleaned better before it gets some kind of paint. But I can see it painted with some stripes. Maybe some flake or pearl or something, but at least now I can sit it up on a shelf and feel like I'm not just moving it around again.
Now I just need a mantle. Then I'd make a coffee table out of an old 364 and have a mantle clock to match.
Hey zman... make that bastard run backwards to trip out people in your shop lol... Twilight Zone time. At least that's what i'd do... Your clock was a good idea! -Chris
If it does, I hope no ones toe is under it! Nice job zman, there's nothin' more traditional than taking something that some one else would see as junk, and giving it a whole new life, very cool!
Zman -That look really nice. How much will you selling them for? Also need the price for shipping. THANKS
Shipping, that must weigh 35 lb Great job, just dont paint it purple. Can you make a set so you never have to change the time back or forward ?If ya got 2 ones always right. You da clock man,, YeeeHaaau.......................YG
Thanks guys... Yeah, I thought about that, but I measured the tranny piece, not even sure what to call it, looked up and said damn, that looks like the right size. I may have to grab a few next time I'm in one of the craft places... LOL, it is HEAVY, I know that, I hadn't even thought about selling it. Though I could probably find another Dynaflow to pull apart and make another.
I really like how it mimics the shape of old mantle-top clocks. Dunno if that's what made you originally see it as a clock, but it has a nice effect.
How about engine tables? These are tables in a local resturant that was made out of the bays of an old service station. Donn
That clock is cool! (kool?) I want to see it with the headlight ring, I think that touch'll really finish that bad boy off! Donnda, cool stuff. It'd be hard to eat with all those good-looking things right there. I'd be distracted the whole time lookin' at all the cool bits.
