So I've had this piece of a Dynaflow kicking around for a few years. I always thought it'd make a cool clock. Today I got off my ass.

I took the cheasy cheap clock off the wall in one of the offices and took it apart.

    Mocked it up on.

A little cutting and fitting later and I had a cool one of a kind clock. I even made a new Kustom face.

Now it just needs a bit of chrome. A headlight ring will soon surround the lense...

Thanks guys, I've been moving this thing around the shop or the garage since i took the Dynaflow out of the 57 10 years ago. I finally moved it to get to something this morning and that was it. Clock time.

  5. Very creative! Sounds like a great thread to start up. You know, things that others have made out of old parts and what not.

  6. That's better than mine. looks nice.

I can't imagine it will last long before some Flake finds its way on it.

My cheap shop clock the battery ran out at 5:10 so I left it there, I guess it's always shop time at my house. :)

Does that thing have an alarm so you know when it's time to pull the nailhead and install a chevy?

Are you saying destroy the natural patina? :D

It's still needs to be cleaned better before it gets some kind of paint. But I can see it painted with some stripes. Maybe some flake or pearl or something, but at least now I can sit it up on a shelf and feel like I'm not just moving it around again.

    Never

But an alarm function would be cool. Would that be considered a performance enhancement?

Now I just need a mantle. Then I'd make a coffee table out of an old 364 and have a mantle clock to match.

That's cool and it took a lot more work than the three I made from wide whites and Moon discs.

Nice job zman, there's nothin' more traditional than taking something that some one else would see as junk, and giving it a whole new life, very cool!

    Thanks guys...

Yeah, I thought about that, but I measured the tranny piece, not even sure what to call it, looked up and said damn, that looks like the right size. I may have to grab a few next time I'm in one of the craft places...

LOL, it is HEAVY, I know that, I hadn't even thought about selling it. Though I could probably find another Dynaflow to pull apart and make another.

I really like how it mimics the shape of old mantle-top clocks. Dunno if that's what made you originally see it as a clock, but it has a nice effect.

  25. Damn, a Dynaflow is good for something!

  26. Heck you can buy a whole cheap clock in Wal-mart for about $4, too. Looks good -

How about engine tables? These are tables in a local resturant that was made out of the bays of an old service station.

That clock is cool! (kool?) I want to see it with the headlight ring, I think that touch'll really finish that bad boy off!

Donnda, cool stuff. It'd be hard to eat with all those good-looking things right there. I'd be distracted the whole time lookin' at all the cool bits.
