'48 Chevy Fleetmaster two door sedan

What's the difference between a town sedan and a sport sedan?

 

bet the guys at www.chevytalk.com will know. my guess is 2dr. vs 4dr., sport being 2dr.

The town sedan series is the stylemaster trim level (base). The sport sedan is the fleetmaster trim level (deluxe). They were both availible in 2door and 4 door bodies. There was also a Fleetline 4 door sedan body style ther was different from the other 2 levels. Both the front and rear doors are different lengths and the rear vent assembly is mounted in the rear doors rather than the C pillar of the body. This style is commonly called a German Helmet.
