A point of interest for anyone thinking about chopping a Ranchero... I bought a chopped 57 Ranchero that used to belong Butch's Rod Shop and when I compared the winshield highth to my wagon it looked like I had a difficult task ahead in replacing the windshield then I took a measurement off of a Retractable and found the opening was the same... very slick idea... chopped top and OEM curved windshield! and by the side windows it is a 2.5 to 3" chop
A nice 1957 Ford Ranchero in hiding... Hello, Custom Rancheros are not very common. At least daily driver Rancheros… But this old 57 Ford Ranchero was sitting in sun, enjoying the moment. We drove by on the way to the beach and saw it out of the corner or our vision. The traffic was a little intense and we could not stop for more photos. Our prior “beach cruise” to this sighting, we had seen a nice 1959 Ranchero just a few blocks away. It was a mild custom versus the Red/White 57 Ranchero that looked stock. Jnaki We like old cars and in our weekly "uptick" drives to the beach to check out the waves, we usually see some cool old cars. They are alive and well in So Cal and on the streets, too, not just car shows. When we lived in the Westside of Long Beach, our next door neighbor had a similar color station wagon for their large family. The dad wanted a 1957 Ford Ranchero, but it would have been his own car as his family was large and would not all fit in the small cab. The 5 door wagon fit his family needs perfectly. At :02 to :05 similar color 56 Ford Station Wagon in the background.
