Was looking at the wescott frame plans and just thought I would ask if anyone has used them and how accurate they are. The model A plans dont have outside of frame dimentions. Is there another place where i could get some better plans for the model A frame???
There is a guy on eBay who sells blueprints of the Model A frame ... His actual blueprint has the correct numbers on the blueprint Here is his eBay stuff http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1928...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item5638dba42c
When i built my frame i used wescotts and one from one of the model a restoration sites (marc or mafca )between the two they had all of the measurements. The wescott print was not very accurate .
The measurements for their 36-40 frame isn't very accurate, so I would have my doubts about any of the others.
just new to wescott plans so far seems ok except on a 33 ford plan it used a measurement of 3/7th... doug
When I built my 33-4 frame jig, I took measurements from a straight original frame, a professionally boxed frame, and Wescott's drawing. There was often variation between the 3. If there was more than 1/8" difference, I discarded Wescott's numbers and went with the original frames.
