and building an A right now, also very budget conscience. I end up doing alot of skill trading , selling off of some stock parts I don't need anymore form the projects and some good deals online.

The driver side had some serious rot in the quarter panel and I have since smoothed the hood. I was going to run it as is but then I found the cancer.

    50 Styleline: $1500
    ECI front disc kit: $600
    283 SBC/ th350 combo: $250
81 TransAm posi disc rear: $200
    Misc parts: $500

That puts me in it about $3500 or so. I'm getting a 49 Merc grill cavity, already got the grill, and I'm going to graft that onto the front....but I'll still need a hood. By the time I'm done, should be under $6k.

First build ever, started with no parts and few tools. I graciously omitted the tools I had to purchase ;P

This was a real low budget project, and was built in the Virgin Islands, making it ever more of a project, nothing was available locally. You ether have it, make it, or go with out. Running a 2.5 AMC 4 banger/5sp, 65 Chevy Van axles, and a lot of home made pieces and parts. Did every thing except the drive shaft and top Iceman.

  30. '50 Chevy that runs, kinda, no glass in it, and '65 Impala less motor - $300
    Sold Impala $750 = +$350

Most of glass for '50 plus Olds Rocket valve covers = $60
    Valve Covers sold on eBay = $57, + 347

Swap '51 Chevy project for another '50 Chevy for other half of windshield = free

75 Camaro rearend = $50 at you-pull-it, + $297 ... Rearend has recent brakes and lines all in good shape

Front backing plates, drums from '54 Chevy carcass a buddy had = free
    '54 steering box/column from same = free

New shoes, hoses, wheel cylinders, hardware = $100 +$197

Interior: Replace seats with '64 Gran Prix buckets - '64 Gran Prix parts car $300. Scrap carcass $220. Sell motor/trans $550. Sell taillights $50. Total ahead on '64 $520.

Include $25 of '63 Riviera parts I had on hand.

'55 Chevy pedal mount - free out of a parts car I have

'67 Skylark all drum master - buddy junked one with a good master so I saved it, but a reman is only $25 or so.

Find out 235 is cracked inside, need motor. Retire rusty DD Suburban with 350/700R4 = free (truck was only $525 in the first place)

So I need a pair of front mounts and a trans crossmember of some sort, plus a few bolts and lines to hook it all up. In theory with a crapload of labor I should be just about able to drive the thing for free. I did spend $20 or $30 on some paint to make it look less like crap not long after I got it, too, basically just spray primered the fenders/doors/quarters.
