So everyone, what would be your ideal motor for your rod? I know alot of people running SBC's (including me) that would rather have somthing a bit more...interesting.

I've been tossing around the idea of putting my flathead 6 in my coupe, if not permanent then just for this season.

Id really like a twin H power 308 hudson with a 3 speed saggy.

    Lets here em!

S.O.H.C. 427 Ford. Man that's just cool looking motor! I remember when I was a kid my dad worked for the local Lincoln-Mercury dealer. They got a flyer from Holman and Moody about inventory reduction. They were selling 427 S.O.H.C. for $1200.00 on the pallet. Brand new motors!!!! They couln't give them away because of the new 429 shotgun hemi motors. Man I wish I had a fat piggy bank back then!

426 Hemi just to say I have one, and my car is a Mopar.

If I had something proper to put it in, I love flatheads.

With no money considerations, I would like to build either one of my early hemis or a 272 Y-block I have. I think the Y-block has become more unique but the hemi is...well if I have to explain it...

On the road so no pics...
But it is a toss up. A SOHC or a 275 GTB/4 either way they sound so glorious.

I've had a thing for those since I built the Ohio George '33 Willys model as a kid, but I think I'd be perfectly happy with a small Chevy though, as long as it had a 6-71 with all early to mid 60s parts and a Pete's, Delta or Weiand swing arm drive, some AFBs and a reworked Enderly barndoor style scoop (not the one with butterflys).
