    It was fun to use that Chrysler grille. thanks for the compliment. its just an old 4 door that I have had for a long time, but it sure is fun.

    Kevin (ooltewahspeedshop) is doing a prototype right now. This guy is a great fabricator. He has most of the pieces and and has done a couple mockups. If it goes OK I thing we could be casting in the summer '10. It really looks cool - and will be different than any 235/261 intake and exhaust out there.

    Did somebody mention using a jaguar motor?

    Not much more than a pile of parts, but it will someday be a boat-tail speedster with a 1960 jag inline six and four speed w/ overdrive.

    Don't recall where I got it (maybe here).
    Those carbs are the same Carter side-draughts that Chevy used on the 235 in the original 'vette.

    Still stock .
    To come : 4.0 HO Jeep head , cam , Cherokee headers and homemade intake with 3 Rochester B .
    The car is a driver .

    update on mine. got her fired and the cam broken-in. still need to install some baffles and turn-ups on the headers. the webers are much easier to work with than i thought, very simple construction. need to finish some brake plumbing and i can piss-off ALL my neighbors, not just the ones on my block!

    I have a stock 235 blue flame with 3 speed over-drive. only 65,000 acual miles. Run great

    yah mine came out of a van ,i cant complain i only payed 300$ for the motor n it has realy low miles n i just havent got around to swapping it out for a shorter one lol

    Woody, tell me more about that intake please!

    I have just found a 292 and am wondering how to build it up. I was thinking about Webbers, but those look like SU carbs like I have on my Volvo P1800 - much cheaper and easier to get hold of.

    @all: I run a '64 Comet with the 170cid straight 6. It's stock (besides straight pipes); 4 speed manual (remember: real cars have a clutch!), very low miles (30'0000) but a lot of rust...

    Here's a link to Clifford performance. They, of course are promoting their products, but give useful information for building the 292. I did what they suggested, installed their parts, and for the most part been very satisfied with the results. I have never really rung out the engine past 4000 rpm, but it has tons of torque and is a joy to drive. It is, after all, a truck engine. WX1

    .406 lift is at the valve on the exhaust side of the stock cam.
    Intake is actually .390.
    Remember, the "Nova Six" cam, like alot of the moving parts in that engine, is based on the old SBC V8, which would've been current when the Nova engine debuted in 1962.
    That cam has a lobe lift of .223 / .232 (.335 / .348 at the valve, on the V8).
    The modern "300HP" cam (NOT the Duntov cam used in the early 327's), that was designed for the 350 when it came online in '68, is .260" / .269" @ the lobe, which translates to .390 / .4035 @ the valve, in the SBC.
    In the six, this is the factory marine cam, and translates to .455 / .471 lift at the valve, for the same lobe lift.
    I believe the difference in duration between the two cams is about 10-14 degrees, on the intake side.
    So the Clifford "264 cam" clearly has more lift and a longer duration than either of the Chevy cams I aluded to above.
    So their claim of a 25-30 HP increase is probably pretty spot on, as I once calculated the HP increase using the factory marine cam to be around 15-25 HP.

    Or you could just cut down the tube and the dipper equal amounts. Notch the end for the full and add marks. WX1

    wolfex1 ill probly do that , i just havent gottin around to it in the build, just too busy trying too finishing up all the metal work . lol

    little terry , the intake is a clifford tripple webber intake , that i cut up and adapted nissan 240 z su to . i wanted to do something different and something cheeper than running webers , where s some more picts of it [​IMG]

    1963 stock 194 c.i running 211hp split exhaust ((( hand made and easy to do ,,, also just finished the split intake with dual carbs will install this week . bored .60 over flat top pistons lots of porting and polishing

    This is my car. I have been reading about what is considered a Hot Rod. I have been doing this for so long I remember when a Chevrolet of any type was not considered a Hot Rod. (Pre-1955).
    This is a 1934 Chevrolet standard with 1933 Chevrolet front end sheet metal. It has a Chevrolet 292 with a supercharger. I make the supercharger manifolds. It has a 1954 Chevrolet pick up cross member with a 1962 Chevrolet V8 hydraulic clutch bell housing and a Borg Warner Super T-10 4 speed. It has a 9 inch Ford 3.25 to 1 rear end. Most of the work was done by my friends and myself. Some of the friends have died since we made it. Buffalo in Washington made some of the chassis parts, one of a kind inventions designed by myself.
    I don't do well drag racing because I am too old to have good reflexes. People who don't know that pull out of the staging lanes when it looks like they will have to go against my car and have the stigma of having their V8 beaten by a six. Most people can't tell what size a Chevrolet six is so I used to paint "216" in the window for my number.
    I have probably spent enough time and money on this car to have the most socially acceptable 1932 Ford with crate motor V8 you ever saw.
    I also read comments about rich old guys undeservingly owning cars young guys can't afford. I am an old guy. I am not a rich old guy because I have owned some kind of Hot Rod since I was 15 years old.

    Are your 250 Z carbs going to be big enough? The Datsun was a 2.4 liter you are 4.0+. (Just remembered the z car was only a dual setup.) I know the E typ Jag at 3.8/4/0 liter ran 3 x 1 3/4 While the Sedan versio ran 2 X 2 on the same displacement. Thinking of maybe running 2 x 2 on my mopar flat 6 at 3.8. found this chart on the web. Looks like you should be runing 3 x 2. Nice work modding the manifolds.
