I'm gonna build a model a pickup with a 331 hemi for my next project. I could use some ideas. I only have the motor right now so any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I was hoping to make it look like it was a hemi install how-to magazine article car from 51'-53'. I am not that familiar with early 50's style rods and need a few pointers.

Here's mine. This was in the mock up stage. Had a 270 Hemi, putting a 392 Hemi in now

That's a nice one, Pickemup! I dig it. How much is the chop and how much out of the bed?

Now we're talkin'! Sweeeeeet, you're in cleveland too, hope I'll see that around when you get it done. I need a stock 392 rod if you have a spare or two.

I know a couple guys in my home town that have 250 or more model A's. Don't ask, they don't sell.

I'm 6'1", could I drive that thing for 2 hours and stand it? I love that chop but I know a guy who is 5'6" and he had a dodge pickup that was so channeled that even he couldn't drive it (I called it the knee licker). Any help appreciated by six footers.

  17. I'm about 5'9" and fairly average build; a while back I tried out sitting in a bone stock AA with crappy stock uhpolstery on the seat bottom and just bare springs for the seat top, and I found that I might be able to run it around town but long drives would be out of the question. Too cramped up with no room to stretch my legs out, and the seat don't go any further back. If you don't mind driving with your legs bent all the time I suppose it would be okay, but I'd at least want a tilt column in it, or a smaller steering wheel.

At 6'1" I wouldn't chop it too far either -

Home made chassis, channeled 4", no chop. do a search using jason12872 and you will find posts on the complete build start to finish.
