Just thought id share some pics of my new roadster i picked up last week. Spotted it on evilbay and couldnt resist especially since it was for sale fairly close. Car was hotrodded in 1959-60 and stuffed away in garage till 2007. 060 over flathead harmon collins cam, weiand dual carb intake w/94s , 40 side shift trans w/lincoln guts hooked to a 3 on the tree ,46 steering box cross steer hooked to i believe a 32 heavy axle . auburn dash w/49 merc guages and swing pedals I"m jazzed
i'd been watching that car on craigslist and ebay, if i had the $ i would of snatched it up too. it's a great car and you couldn't beat the price especially with the list of good stuff on it. congrats
Chris Car was originaly built in corvallis then the guy i bought it from bought it in 2007 and drug it to Lebanon ore and then started to ugly it up diamond plate running boards and wallmart radials .Then decided to sell it and finish his 31
That car was put together the year I got my drivers license (16 yo). I'm 65 now. It would have been an outstanding example of a hot rod back them. If it were mine I'd change very little and get it on the road. Not many get to drive a time capsule. Frank
Thanks for all the positive responses guys. What do you think of that padded dash? I am having a hard time warming up to it .Think it would be criminal to change it ? Appears that the stock upper rail is still intact They just hung that on top of it .
I think she should be 100% left alone, she's a time capsule survivor that cannot be replicated without losing its soul. Congrats.
The yellow A, now this?? Officially you are now my least favorite local HAMBer, BTW do you still have that front axle that came with my Quickchange drums?
Shaggy Thats no way to be Still have that axle run into everytime i go into the conex. ya better come over and trade me something for it ??
Studefreak, Congrats. I was gonna hit the button on that car when I got home from work that day. By the time I got there it was gone. It is sweet. I don't think it would be a crime to change the dash as long as you re install the Auburn panel. Jim
Glad you brought that up...it needs the cluster installed in one of the '29/'32 style dashes. They are available in steel or fiberglass.
