OHH yeah, I know this is a bad idea. Been looking at this a while for a client and I am not sure if it is good or sux. It will be printed nice at 20"x24". What you think. Also, post some car art you really like, or stuff you are working on. These are all original images, but my graphic Layout skills are shaky at best. It is for his office and for his son.
From what I can see, the two bottom pictures just need to be switched. You always want the eye drawn towards the center of the piece. Another thing maybe that there is too much red. If you switch the color of the red on the car at the bottom middle that would also make it pop better in my opinion. Looks great man!
It is Friday you know. Post it in the art show, you'll get the opinions of some of the best automotive artists on the planet.
It is a nice layout but I would consider doing away with the color and printing as a black & white or sepia tones to give it a more nostalgic feel.
Too...much...going...on. I think it lacks cohesiveness. My eyes feel like they are forced to go from one picture to the next. Feels like work to look at. The individual pictures aren't bad but as a whole it's just not working for me. J.
Thats kind of where I am at. The client is a South American who grew up on a farm and loves old US steel. I have done singular images big, but that is not what he was wanting. He wanted a collage. I may have to override him on that. I may try to Have one center piece and something around it or on it. Seems REAL busy, but needed a second " and more" opinion. He probably would like it as is. But, that is not how I work. I will hit it again next week and see if I can get something that I like it better. I searched for the Friday Art Show and found the stickies, but could not get where I needed to be.
The border idea helped..........too busy and not enough contrast. Just my opinon. Sometimes it helps to put it to bed for awhile.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't think the borders do anything. I would try the sepia thought to see what it looked like. I would sure hang it in my rec room as it is.
My thought is that is should be different angles of the same car. But that is just me. I like the idea though and there are some good angles on them.
Are all of these his cars? Perhaps you can work it to your advantage if there is a collage for each car. I like the idea of having one large overall image and then detail shots bordering it.
When doing a commission print. I try to do what the client says first. This was that first try. Then I try to live with it awhile and get other opinions. That is why it is here. And now i cannot live with it any more. So I will be changing things alot. I do like the sepia though. That may be part of the next version.
If it is all my own cars the layout would be cool by me. I like it, but I see what you mean about facing and drawing to center.
