Yes he does, probably the best when it comes to CORRECT Pontiac restorations.

 

I crawled ill over some of his work. Unbelievable.............. I would be nervous to drive em

looks like a lot of filler was used... did the body get a complete skimcote of filler????
please keep the pics comming....

 

Where was the car found? And where in michigan is scotts shop?

 

The body does get a skim coat of filler. That's how you get them a straight as possible.

p.s. The car in my avatar was done by Scott in 1996. Looks as good today as it did when it was first painted.

Very cool stuff. Would like to know more about the Grumpy Jenkins 67 Camaro. Is it the real car or a clone ? Where was it found ? Etc. His 68 car has never been found. Rumor is Brooklyn Heavy owned it for awhile and then it dissapeared. I'd love to find that one sitting in a barn somewhere. The 69 & 70 versions are out there and have been restored if I remember correctly. Growing up in the 60s & 70s Grumpy was the man when it came to Chevy SB engines. Smokey weren't too shabby either.

 

Nice pics of the Union Park Pontiac SD Tempest wagon. Has anybody been able to prove that the car is legit and that it made it out of the junkyard on Passyunk Avenue in Philadelphia in 1964 after it was stripped and repossessed?

I can't help with this but I did provide the photo for the lettering of the car by a previous owner. Photos of this car from back in the day are VERY hard to find.

Anyone have any photos of Harold Ramsey's blown '64 GTO ?

 

A couple shots of the wagon.

 

The "749" LeMans was purchased by Jim Christianson from Thompson which was being driven by Bob Spar (not Shrewsberry) at the 1963 Winternationals. Hayden Profitt took an interest in Jim and told him about the car.
Jim got to choose between one of the two Thompson Super Duty's. The other LeMans which was being driven by Jess Tyree went to Beswick which eventually became the Tameless Tiger.

The day before Jim went to buy the LeMans, Thompson's workers crossed the cables trying to jump start it due to a dead battery.

Jim had to rewire the whole car because of that.

He street raced it and ran it on the track in So Cal with the 421 dual quad Super Duty motor until his wife told him he had to sell it. He finally installed a big car rearend in it after breaking the pinion too many times. He also used a big car floor pan for the transmission hump. He had a phone # to Pontiac to get replacement parts too.

Sold it to Jess Tyree around 1966 who then "most likely" converted it to the straight axle car your talking about. The car was destroyed out in the desert after a driving accident while it was on the trailer.

All of this info comes from Jim Christianson himself who visited me back in 1996 Memorial Day weekend. The pic is out of Pete McCarthy's book on page 139
