Believe it or not , all the glass was good untill they poked holes in it to hold the doors closed , the guy saved the power pack 283 3 speed and 4:11 rear out of it , but wont sell it ,he also saved the tags and paperwork to it too.

  8. I have seen the same thing happen. Some turd refuses to sell a car for years, then decides its the same thing as Jay Leno collects and want too much for it.Ends up getting a dollar two ninety eight for it from a crusher. Not too smart in my book.

I tried to buy a '54 Stude coupe once from a guy. No front sheet metal, no drivetrain, just body and frame. I offered $200. The guy said hell I would crush it before I would take that for it. I passed.

Several years later I saw it sell at an acution, with a front clip and on wheels for $375. Crush it my ass. Sometimes they just say that to play on your emotions. I didn't buy then because I had moved on with other projects.

Sad to see it go, but really not much of use on that car aside from the glass.

That's too bad, because it still looks like it had more than $400 worth of parts. :(

  13. Yup, someone savvy would have snapped it up for $400 and peddled off those parts for a tidy profit. I helped a buddy with several of em overthe years.

400 was a deal. It's worth that just to put it out back and never do anything with it. To bad. Looked like a saveable car

AMEN to the Barrett & Jackson-itis. People aren't just doing cars that way now....but even parts if they think they know what you're going to use it for. Had a guy quote me 100 bucks for a 2nd gen Camaro rear, but said he had to dig it out. He dug it out, then looked around on Ebay and decided it was worth 300. I told him to keep it....whaddadouche!
