I was going to send "Dogtag" a polite PM letting him know that this was a Ford shoebox thread and that his car, while well built, did not really fit well with a traditional hot rod forum. However, he does not accept PM's so:

    1. This thread is for Ford cars from 1949-1951, only
    2. Your car is not at all traditional
    3. The giant wheels are ugly
    4. No one here is impressed by the following:
    LS1, 4L65-E
    Mustang ll Clip
    Wilwood 13" Drilled and Slotted
    Hydraboost Brakes

I'm glad you drive your car and that you enjoy it. That being said, if you are looking for traditional hot rods or customs you are in the right spot. If not, you're in the wrong spot.

Also, I'm in! 1951 Crestliner, flatty w/ Edmunds aluminum heads. I know it needs new tires but the radials are almost brand new! Also, it will be lower by next summer.

Thanks for the friendly heads up. Should have paid attention. I'm in the wrong spot for sure. I'm new to the hobby and didn't know any better. I've removed the post and I
    apologize for offending anyone here.

  19. That's not silver-leaf. It's just bare metal with clear over it. Looks great in person...

A pic of that car was in R&C a few months back; the caption also stated that it was cleared bare metal- then someone later corrected it to say that it was leafed! Either way its gorgeous!

lol! I guess we did a good job huh! it is silver leaf Bob the complete flame job was done in silver leaf with simulated grind marks! its the first time its been done to my knowledge I was told it couldnt be done because the leaf would tear but after hours of trial and error we figured out how to create the effect I was looking for and damn! its been a blast every where I take the car people ask how long did it take to metal finish the whole car and if I masked off the flames and shot the candy blue paint lol! fun car fun build!

Mr. Bomba- absolutely amazing work! I see a "how-to" in the works if you care to share. Hope to see it in person, someday.
