Very sorry to hear this sad news. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I was glad to hear that you got to see him close to his passing. I didn't get to see my dad that close to his passing and wish I had. Take care and remember he is now in a much better place.
Tough break, and a tough time of the year. My old man passed this time back in '04, after a 9 year battle with cancer. In the end, he held on a few weeks longer to see his grandaughter born. As Flat Roy said... they're in HR Heaven, keeping the PBR cold. You are definitely in our thoughts and prayers tonight.
Not to many things in life are as hard to loose as a Parent especially if you had a real one. Nothings the same since I lost my Dad a year and a half ago. I think about him all the time the knowledge and advice he gave me. And some really cool times laughing and talking about cars. Nothing anyone can say to make it easier though man and as lame as it sounds it really does take time. I hope you get through this as intact and good as possible man. Best thing I can tell you is brace for some crazy shit people will say I had a guy look at me serious and tell me " I know EXACTLY how you feel I lost my cat three months ago' It was all I could do not to strangle him to the ground. But I know he meant well and was just an idiot. Do your best to keep it between the lines and look for the good in day to day life Spending time with family and hearing/telling stories has been good for me to. Good luck man.
Sorry for the loss of your Pops . . . it is a very hard thing to go through (my Dad passed in 1995). Cherish all the good times, forget about the bad and remember the unique things about your Dad that make him special. Hang in there and do the things that you know he would be proud of . . . cause he's still watching from above!
sorry mudslinger. i know its never a good time to loose your dad. my dad has been falling lately. i know its not going to be long before i loose him. at 84 your dad was dealt a good hand at a long life. i wish you and your family the best in a bad time. tom
Man,..this hurts as I lost my Dad almost 15 years ago and I still miss him! Prayers for you and your family....as even my Dad would say in these times..."Keep your Dobber Up!" Godspeed. E
