I don't think it looks bad, but I like the visor and full length bed better. I think it's hard to make changes like this and still keep the Ford identity. (if you care about that) Each part separately is definitely Ford, but somehow with all of those changes seen together it starts looking like something that could have started as a Chevy coupe?
All valid points guys, and Neal, that really looks like I thought it would...I like it alot. I just got back from lunch with Jason at hot rod garage and he said they could do it with no problem...I'd just have to cash in my 401k! So...for my last request, could someone take the pic that Neal did, and put the visor back on? edit:...nevermind, I think I'll stick with my first choice. It'll look kinda like this but with a hood. Thanks for all the input guys...guess I was just trying too hard to be different.
Neal did a good job on the photochop, but somehow it looks "Mopar" without the visor. I like your original plan better.
I'm sorry....but a '32 PU without a visor is just plain ugly... Why's everyone gotta try making every old car look like a '32 3W????
Damn Neal... looks great. Ok, I concede. But I'm keeping the shorty bed and bobbed rear frame horns...I like it better that way with a chopped cab. Now I just gotta decide on wheels and tires, and color, and drivetrain, and...
well, no one likes it, but here it is anyways...first like Larry asked for, the second with the bed rail raised slightly to flow off the hood better.
my buddy owns this now.... on a 4" or so longer frame...he's on here from time to time.....its a driver and fosale
3wLarry ... neat concept ... but IMHO the chopped version looks a bit like a microcephalic (not that there's anything wrong with that).
That's a handsome little truck.. But I think I prefer the visor'd look.. I think it adds an element of "Im up to something" Sneaky sinisterness.. I think I just invented a new word there..
When I read the idea, it sounded interesting. After seeing the pics, I like it better the way Henry made it. The bare metal truck is badass...period! Do yours like that. Kevin
Larry ... you of ALL peopel know how a little trim amd haircut on one of Henry's old Deuces gets WAY OUT OF HAND 95% of the time ( IMHO ) ... when you do more than chop one ... you are messing with perfection. If you REALLY want to be different ... then go buy some old piece of throw away junk ... set in on a junk chassis and have one of these You are SHORT enough to fit in this fine ...
A stock 32 truck is too angular for my taste. I like the 3 window windshield, front pillars and the raised bed sides as photoshopped in post #40. I am retreating to the bunker and activating the deluge system. Piper106
Electrodude, that would be the the other solution to my idea. Getting the hood more in line with the bed is where I was going with the sectioning, without making the bed look too large. Not saying your way is wrong just another way to skin the cat.
Larry ... forget the visor! ... those dual chrome exhaust stacks ^^^^ are the cats meow! ... I can hear it now ... "32Roller, What's your 10-20? ... I-44, Turner Turnpike ... 10-4 Good Buddy!"
This post has gotten way out of hand . Damn Larry make up your mind. Just pulling your leg. Lunch next wednesday? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, its just like OKC, it sucks big time!"
I'm late to the party but I'd vote to keep the visor. Hell, at one time I was pondering a truck visor on my Fordor. JH
