Just when my 64 comet couldn't possibly run any better I go and tear it apart..........LOL The engine is a late model roller motor 306 cubic inch small block ford, trw forged 9.5 to 1 pistons, Arp bolts, Ported and polished heads with undercut stem 2.02 valves,Powerdyne supercharger ( 9 pounds of boost), torker intake with 750 double pumper I converted to blow through, Custom ground hyd roller cam by ultradyne. And heres a few shots of the car.......... I picked up a tunnel ram from a freind and decided to run two carbs with the supercharger and also make some changes to the drivetrain. Heres a pic of the tunnel ram sitting on the engine with two 600 holley I converted to blow thorugh Everything just cleared the tear drop hood. I had to make a carb hat that would cover both carbs After getting everything to fit under the hood I pulled the engine..........I didn't change anything on the engine except the intake and I installed a 12 pound pulley on the super charger. I had the c4 tranny reworked also added a billet servo and a larger shift kit along with a 3200 stall..........Heres the engine ready to drop back in. Got the engine and tranny back in..............Working on getting everything hooked back up. Pulled the front end off to do some more body work on it. Picked up some new hurst slicks.........I blew the caps right off the last ones...lol Got the interior guy to come out to the shop and start working on the inside
After I get the engine running the way I want and the interior finished up its off to the paint shop and then to larry fators for some lettering.
Looking good, Im finally going to start on the 65 I bought off you and your dad. What are the seats and were did you get them....JOHN
Glad to hear you still have the 65............The seats are some I found at pomona swapmeet they had a head rest molded on them that I cut off with my band saw then had some slip covers made.If I remember right they were made by JAZ
Looks good for a heavy ol Comet...but what is that reflection in the side plexi-glass....looks like an awsome Rambler! lol......
Thanks for the pic.............Funny I don't remember having it at fathers day I always take my awb 55. Must have been a few years back
So glad most members are giving this project the respect it deserves. Nice craftsmanship on the blower, that motor must make for a wild ride!! Wheel and tire combo is spot on. Keep us posted. JT
Man I dig everything about this build. SBF roller motors can run like nobodys business fer sure. Keep us posted
Hell yeah, awesome car!! Like someone else mentioned, those roller cam 302s sure can run hard for a relatively small C.I. engine! That's gotta be a blast to drive... Malcolm
Got a Few PM's asking about rear tire size.............I'm running a 9" ford with disc brakes full spool with 4.11 gears. The tires are 8" wide and 29" tall.........I had to move the front of the fender well opening forward 4" to clear the taller tires. Everything is in the stock location except the body panel I modified. On this 65 comet I built I moved The wheel opening forward 6" installed a crites leaf spring relocaton kit and a narrowed 9" ford which allowed room for 10" slicks
